Halo 3 was reviewed 3 years ago man, standards were real low back then. 2010 is a tough year, the critics are getting harsher with time.

I think he's also talking about the one mission that I had objections with, it's just that mission that doesn't fit with the rest of the game.

^ May be, i don't know why you guys have objections with that, nor do i care (obviously :p) but the following levels after that one are pretty heavy on the story side, revelations and whatnot....and ofcourse, the conclusion itself was really fitting as well...

Halo Reach reviews:

1UP - A+

Even excusing the minor flaws such as slight storytelling or framerate issues, is it safe to call Halo: Reach the best Halo game ever? It's way too early to declare as such -- this is the type of proclamation best saved for years of study and hindsight, rather than in the immediate glow of a fresh release. But after seeing the perfect last shot of the campaign (in fact, it's so spot-on, that Bungie community director Brian Jarrard confirms that, unlike previous titles, there's no additional cinematic or end-scene for finishing on Legendary difficulty -- everyone sees the same last scene), and playing round after round of multiplayer, I can say that while I admire and respect every previous Halo title, Reach is the Halo that I absolutely love.
GamePro - 5 out 5 Stars

An epic story, incredible pacing, and a spot-on mix of old and new elements make Reach’s campaign Halo’s best yet. Oh, and when you’ve finished the story mode, plan on spending a large chunk of your life in the massive online universe. Any way you cut it, Halo: Reach is a fantastic swan song for Bungie, and it leaves behind a Spartan-sized set of boots for 343 Industries to fill.
Joystiq - 5 out 5 Stars

There's an art to iteration. ODST could have been a clever little shimmy, but it came out a misstep. Reach brings us right back into the dance that hooked us nine years ago, introduces some cool new steps, and leaves us twirling in enchantment as Bungie graciously bows out. Just keep twirling, Spartan.
G4 - 5 out 5 Stars

Bungie's decision to veer away from Master Chief and instead feature a squad of Spartans with players driving replacement newcomer Noble Six, has paid off. Halo: Reach stands as a fitting capstone to Bungie's five-title legacy, both in campaign and multiplayer. Come for the story, stay for the fragging ... and eventually, the teabagging.
Gaurdian UK - 5 out 5 Stars

Halo: Reach, simply, is Bungie's masterwork, and if you own an Xbox 360, you'd be an idiot not to buy a copy – even if you're not a fan of first-person shooters, it will still make you marvel at just how good a game can look and feel. And it throws down a massive gauntlet as part of what will be an intriguing sub-text this Christmas: will it be the game everyone is playing on Xbox Live, or will Call of Duty: Black Ops have the quality to usurp it online?
IGN UK - 10

Nine years in and on its fifth and final pass Bungie has created the definitive Halo experience, in which refinement is matched by the gentle revolutions of its new features. Armor abilities lend spark to a campaign that already boasts some of the series' finest level design and most stirring set-pieces, and they help enliven a multiplayer set that's beyond generous. It's a parting gift from Bungie that should keep players entertained through to the next generation; and if any other console shooter can better it in that time it'll be one hell of a feat.

Planet Xbox 360 - 10

While arguably no longer the best shooter option available to the Xbox 360, Halo: Reach stands up as the best in the franchise. From its tightly designed and balanced multiplayer, the volumes of options to modify play, addition of weapons and gameplay modes, and the game-changing hot-swappable items, the multiplayer is more involved and dynamic than ever. Single player stands as just as reformed. While the plot may not appeal to those who have long criticized Halo's narrative as generic, it still stands up with the best, literally creating a character players can fit into. No longer a story about a macho dude, it represents another perspective in the grand scale of Halo. The shooting is as tight as ever, and the gameplay is at the top of it’s game. While I did not like the random break for the space combat, the games other vehicle sections fit well with the game, including one dramatic level in which the Spartans must fly above the city of New Alexandria and land from building to building to deal with separate threats. It's exhilarating, and fits the game better. However, all of these complaints aside, Halo: Reach will go down as one of the best products made by Bungie, and one of the best games to currently reside on the Xbox 360.
Telegraph - 10

Bungie wouldn’t have it any other way. Halo is their story, and with Reach you feel they have just closed the book. It may not have the lasting impact of Combat Evolved, but as a refinement of the idea --the essence-- of Halo, it is their finest work yet. And maybe, just maybe, they want Halo to end right here and now, as they finally close this glorious circle that they have created. When you touch down on Reach as Noble Six, your leader, Carter, takes you aside and says: “You are stepping into shoes we would rather were left unfilled.” Sounds like a message. And on the evidence of this spectacular send-off, filling Bungie’s size 12s might just be impossible.
Destructoid - 10

Halo: Reach is everything a Halo fan has ever dreamed for. All that was lacking from previous Halo games is here and then some. This is Bungie's love letter to their fans and they've definitely gone out with a bang.
IGN - 9.5

It's a fitting end to Bungie's involvement with the franchise, one that both references the past and injects new life into a tried and true formula. Newcomers and Halo fans alike will find plenty to love in Halo: Reach. Even if you've grown tired of the Halo formula through the years, I'd still recommend this game to you. It's just that good.
GameInformer - 9.5

Any disappointment series fans felt after ODST should be completely washed away thanks to Reach. Make no mistake about it - this is the true follow-up to Halo 3. It's also a perfect way for Bungie to part with the series it turned into a phenomenon. [Oct 2010, p.92]

CVG - 9.2

Whilst not the ambitious magnum opus we hoped for, Reach is still vanilla Halo in its most refined, beautiful form. So, this is goodbye from Bungie's Xbox reign. It's been a hell of a ride. The studio's opted out of pumping Reach full of the sort of brash, risky ideas that started it all, for a more stable, predictable affair. But that doesn't mean it hasn't put a fitting, beautiful and hugely enjoyable full stop on a series that - in terms of what videos games were capable of - truly changed everything.
Eurogamer - 9

I called it a monument at the start, and that's just it. Reach is an encore, a victory lap, a crowd-pleasing last hurrah for a series that most definitely won't end here, but will just as definitely never be the same again. Halo deserves another game this good, and Reach is a deserving tribute.
VideoGamer - 9

If multiplayer is your thing, it's a must-have title. If you're a hardcore Halo fan looking to flesh out the story and really just want more of the same, then pick it up. If you're looking for an innovative FPS that pushes boundaries and helps define the genre, though, you may want to look elsewhere. Reach is fun, but it doesn't provide the same kick in the ass as your first time through the original Halo.
GameZone - 8.5

t goes without saying that Bungie’s devotion and investment has paid off, exponentially. For the past six years – since the release of Halo 2 – many publishers and developers have been playing catch-up while attempting to emulate the brilliance of online matchmaking that Bungie has perfected. With Halo: Reach, Bungie has gone above and beyond expectations and delivered the standout title of the year that caps off Bungie’s nine-year journey that began on the original Xbox with Halo: Combat Evolved. Halo: Reach is 2010’s multiplayer title of the year.As Bungie says goodbye to Halo, fans from across the world welcome back the king of console multiplayer.
Worth Playing - 8.5

In the end, deciding whether or not to buy Halo: Reach depends on the kind of player you are and what you're looking to get out of the game.
GamesRadar - 8

Do you buy Halo mostly for the multiplayer? Then Reach is everything you'd want and expect from Bungie's final contribution to the franchise – perfectly polished familiarity with exactly the right amount of fresh features and bold risk-taking. If you're counting on an epic, sweeping and satisfying campaign story, however, you might want to keep waiting for Halo 4.
Giant Bomb - 4 out of 5 stars

When taken with the appropriate context--namely, that the game's original developer is saying goodbye to the series and passing it off to a new team--Halo: Reach feels like a wholly appropriate stopping point for the series, filling out some more of the relevant fiction that surrounds the core trilogy while building the multiplayer out in such a way that Halo fans will have something to play until whatever's next is ready for release. While I do feel that the formula has worn thin in a few spots, Reach feels like a love letter from the developer to its fans. If you're one of those fans, you should have this game.
Machinima - 9.5

PS: Amazing scores. But at a point that really hurts the cheerful mood, story wise.
