Now I am regretting it :/ I shouldn't have done the right thing :3 I have signed up for the 10mb package on VDSL, Which is of 2499 w/o tax now. But no connectivity yet... And nobody came over.

LOL u paid 21K of dues... U would have just got a connection under someone else name dude... Plus what package did you get? Is your line syncing or not? Can you share your stats page?

Chatted with help line to have my connection upgraded to 100mbps. He said will have to request a port change/upgrade. Registered a complain to have that done. How are people claiming to have this done within 10 minutes?

When u request for a package change, 2 things happen:

1) They change the speed cap for ur line. So if u request a 20 mb package , they will put a 20 mb speed limit for ur line i.e change ur profile.
2) The port gets upgraded/downgraded so that ur downstream and upstream rate shown on ur modem page changes according to ur package.

Now for some exchanges, both of these steps happen automatically and almost instantly as soon as u request for a package change with ptcl's helpline/live chat. For other exchanges, step 1 happens automatically but for step 2, someone in ur exchange has to get it done manually and thats what causes the delay.

My exchange falls in the second category and when i requested the package change, my exchange people didnt even get any request to upgrade my port. So i had to call the exchange people myself and tell them to upgrade my port.

So in case ur port doesnt get upgraded in a short amount of time, get ur exchange's number, call them and ask them the number of the dsl guy. Then call him and tell him to upgrade ur port and he'll do it.

Yeah calling them 2 times a day since last week and all they have to say is "Sorry" and "Please wait some more, Someone will come today".

Good thing that I have my connect 10mb connection on backup til 21st of April. LOL
Get ur exchanges number, call them , get the number of the dsl guy and tell him to activate my package. Keep calling him daily if u have to to ask for update cause he has to do it. Helpline people wont know much about whats going on.

they are providing 100mb only on GPON. 100mb on vdsl causes stability issues. (thats what i was told by the exchange team).. maybe thats the reason for delay

Hahah. The Orwellian internet service - two-paced and volume-capped.

If only Nayatel had unlimited volume, single-speed packages. I would go with them in a heartbeat.
I'm sticking with Nayatel because it's almost 100% stable and their customer care is world-class. I'm extremely picky about internet and I just cannot rely solely on PTCL

If stability is your sole concern then, I agree, Nayatel is great. However, if you want speed and volume, there are way better ISPs than Nayatel. Their packages seem to be stuck in the early 2010s. This is my only gripe with them. The world has moved on and with these new PTCL packages, there will be a lot of pressure on them to deliver better value for money.

Yeah their packages suck. I keep giving them hell about this on Facebook to the point where they once blocked me :laugh1: But PTCL isn't really doing itself any favors either. I got to know about these new packages through a post here. A 50mbps unlimited package for just around 4k, they should advertise the hell out of this. There's a massive billboard Nayatel has rented near Faizabad. There was one near 6th Road as well. The only way Nayatel will feel the pinch is if more and more people begin to get awareness of PTCL's new packages.

In Rawalpindi and Islamabad you only have PTCL and Nayatel. This Transworld or Optix is just topi drama. They will never expand beyond a few streets.

PTCL only advertise when they increase price of any segment. this show, how unprofessional and non sincere they are with their customers.

PTCL good for those who dont have line issues and can use 10mb dsl or so not like me stuck at 4mb due to poor infrastructure in my Exchange(wah Cantt).

Yeah, I see that billboard everyday. The first time I saw it - it was a fleeting glance - and the major chunk of the space was dedicated to 30 Mbps in only Rs. 399. I was amazed and thought, well here comes my Nayatel subscription. Excited, I visited their website as soon as I got home. Imagine my disappointment when it turned out to be a special addon for just a handful of website.(lmao)

I agree on both of your remaining points. PTCL is not advertising because they want to milk the older, costlier and less bandwidth-intensive packages for as long as they can. And with the market domination they enjoy, they are in no rush.

As for other fiber companies, yes they will mostly be restricted to housing societies. But that's understandable as most of the disposable income, in Rawalpindi at least, is located there. Not to mention, that it is easier to lay down cable in a planned area than an unplanned one.

You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
