MULTI E3 2017 Hype Thread (June 13 - June 16)

I was actually hoping for the console wars to resume but I really don't think X1X is going to cause Sony and PS much trouble. The games are mostly timed exclusives, and for a conference that was trying to get the average consumer dish out $500 for a new console, it didn't really do a great job. X1X is a good console, nonetheless; too bad it doesn't have the games to make it a hit.

Good list of games, liked that they showed trailer after trailer and didn't spend much time on 'corporate speak'. $499 is probably going to be the detremental factor, if it was even $449 it would have been more competitive.

As expected, all the big announcements (sans Sea of Thieves) were multiplat, MS needs to secure more full-exclusives. Ball's in Sony' court now.

For once no Gears or Halo bullshit and it turned out to be one of the better Microsoft conferences. FeelsGoodMan

lol but does it even have a single full-exclusive? Unless you mean 'console exclusive', which is a redundant term anyway.

MS: "Hey, our game is on these 2 platforms, but it isn't available on that 1 platform, therefore it's an exclusive". It's hilarious how many times the word "exclusive" was stated at the conference today. Maybe if they say it that many times, people will actually believe it. *smh*

Evil Within 2 and Wolfenstein: New Colossus announced @ Bethesda's conference.

Both releasing this October.

I watched the Microsoft Conference till Shadow of war gameplay. Had to sleep after that. Were there any good games announced after that?

The conference was quite disappointing. Launched a new, more powerful xbox but they didn't have any games other than Forza to show its abilities.

Metro Exodus looked awesome. I am pretty sure graphics-wise the game is gonna live up to expectations.

Assassins Creed: Origin was disappointment like always. They had finally reached up to 1800 Century with Syndicate and now they have decided to jump back 3000 years. Other than that the gameplay didn't have much to offer. I couldn't see anything new out of it in the gameplay they had shown. So i guess i am gonna play it if it gets cracked on PC.

One game i found very interesting, of which they didn't show much in detail, was Black Desert. It would probably be released by Q4 2018 or Q1 2019. They game looked a pretty decent RPG with intense combat. I am waiting for more details on it.

Now lets see what SONY has to offer.

Bethesda's conference was so bad. They could've skipped this year and it wouldn't have mattered.

Just saw the MS conference. For a conference that had "the most powerful console ever" it sure was very very underwhelming. Even the so called big exclusive Crackdown 3 was such a weak display and the meager stage time given to it is a worrying sign. It almost seems as if MS themselves don't see much potential in that game. There goes that whole CLOUD COMPUTING down the drain.

Sea of thieves, i know this might just be me but i honestly don't get what this game is all about. Apart from that the only other exclusive was Forza. On one end MS was showcasing the most powerful console ever and on the other end most of the games that dominated stage time like Battlegrounds, State of Decay 2, Sea of thieves are not necessarily games that showcase that power in terms of their visual fidelity.

its not meant for the average gamer. as a premium console that can actually do 4k native, i think the price is more than justified. although the game lineup is disappointing atm. hopefully next year will be the best time for me to JUMP-IN again

The "conference" was bad, but at least they announced a bunch of stuff. I think they may have announced more stuff than EA did.

I was looking forward to the Xbox conference, but found it somewhat disappointing, i am only excited to see original Xbox BC is coming. It looks like Sony might win again.

Ori 2 looked beautiful as expected.

Other than that, I think the most overlooked game was The Last Night. Really looking forward to that.

Are you following the twitter conversations for The Last Night ? MS's GM is calling them out for the anti-feminist and gamer gate rants the developer is putting out on his twitter lol. I'm sure someone at MS regrets putting that game on the show now.
