Ubisoft has something new to show us "coming soon." An announcement for an upcoming title is currently being livestreamed on the publisher's YouTube channel.
You can take a look above.
The stream began at 12 p.m. ET today and features what at first appeared to be a static image of a cave painting softly lit by a flickering flame. Ubisoft tweeted out the video with the tagline "Survival is timeless" as a hint to what the announcement could be.

Those who continue to watch, however, will notice that the image has in fact been evolving since the start of the stream. Additional drawings have been added to the cave wall, so that the spear-wielding caveman is now joined by prehistoric-looking archers.
What the drawing will ultimately consist of, or reveal, remains to be seen.

The tweet before it was taken down. Looks like a Far Cry game based in the primitive-era of human history. The teaser image looks like cave paintings of pre-historic times.

Waiting for a gameplay reveal. Far Cry 4 didn't appeal to me much. Ubi needs to shake up the formula and add-in dinosaurs. :D

What?

Come on man, FC4 was the best in the series for me solely due to the cultural familiarity. Sure the story was on the weaker side but even gameplay-wise it was a great game. And Kirat is the one of the most beautiful game worlds ever made.

Primal setting sounds very interesting but I don't think I'll develop the same kind of attachment to a FarCry game where the NPCs aren't abusing in native Hindi/Urdu :D

:p Associations with FC4 aside, it played just like FC3. A few hours into the game I had had enough of the monotonous chore of climbing towers and invading bases.

With Far Cry Primal, Ubi needs to change the formula a bit. Keep the core gameplay same whilst introducing fun and innovative game elements and side quests.

I didn't play Far Cry 3 so perhaps that's why I took much more liking to it. Most games churn out with the same repetitive gameplay elements, even the best ones out there. It's hard to define fun and innovative gameplay elements and side quests. Any ideas that come to your mind?

Far Cry 3 was a masterpiece, loved every bit of it. I completed FC4 around 40% but had to stop due to GPU problems, but in my view FC4 is also amazing. The gameplay is just like FC3's but the improved graphics balance the game.

Culture is very familiar for us, which adds extra fun. Let's see what this Primal thing is.

Far Cry Primal; Official reveal Trailer and Screens

Trailer

Ubisoft has officially announced Far Cry Primal, a new entry in the first-person shooter series that takes players to the "savage Stone Age." It will be released worldwide on February 23, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, followed by a PC release in March.

Described as a "full-fledged single-player experience," Far Cry Primal is set in 10,000 BC, at a time when "massive beasts like the woolly mammoth and sabertooth tiger ruled the Earth." As Takkar, a hunter and last surviving member of his hunting group, players arrive in an area called Oros with the singular goal of survival.

"They will meet a cast of memorable characters who will help them push back and tame the dangers of the wild," Ubisoft explains. "Players will journey as the first human to tame the wilderness and rise above extinction.

"Along the way, they will have to craft weapons and tools partly from the bones of slain beasts, hunt for food, master fire, fend off fierce predators and face off agains other tribes to conquer Oros."

Far Cry usually puts you at the edge of the known world, in a beautiful, lawless, and savage frontier. The Stone Age is, in a way, the very first frontier for humankind; it’s the time when humans put a stick in the ground and claimed land for their own, the time when we started climbing the food chain. That came with conflict, against other humans of course, but also against nature itself."

I am wondering, what could this game possibly have to offer. If there are no guns, bazookas or sniper rifles, then f*ck this game.

I am sick of shooters, so if Ubi have something up their sleeves regarding the weapon system, then I am all for it! I already wanted to play such a game for a long time. Here's hoping it doesn't suffer from the usual 'Ubi-ness'.

Agreed. I'm really intrigued by this. Getting some Horizon Zero Dawn vibes from it as well. Far Cry 4 didn't have the same impact as FC3 because it was more of the same and not entirely in a positive way. I'm glad they're trying to change things up a bit now.

I hope they change the gameplay style cause far cry 4 felt so repetitive, looking forward to it. Btw far cry games are always great and well optimized so don't get your hopes low on this one :p

Spears, clubs, arrows, stone tools......it appears to be an entirely different take on the Far Cry universe. Another things of note is that this isn't a numbered game in the series so it might be smaller in scale.

All things said, I wonder what'll be our mode of transport. I wouldn't mind flying a Pterodactyl (provided there is one in the game) :D

Loved Far Cry 4 and Primal's premise seems very intriguing to me... But i cant help to think that UBI is at it again, fucking the only worthwhile series left with it.
