Normally, I wouldn't post in a thread like this because I don't like to be butchered to death when given my opinion (IMDB for you). But seeing the circumstances, I can't help but reply.
I haven't seen 300 yet but from the trailers and interviews, it seems like your average everyday Hollywood movie (
with a sex scene in it). I have no intention of ever watching it and I'm sure alot of others think the same, so let's leave it at that. It's an eye-candy, no denying that, with nothing else besides that (and incorrect history antagonising the Persians). I'd rather watch another episode of Starwars than this movie because I'd feel my time would be more worth spending on science fiction than biased Historical events (see God Of War
here). Let's not get to that actually, but in my opinion, 300 is overrated. Period.
In this thread though Devil (somewhat unsurprisingly) is being the graphic-novel fanboy. Isn't free speech all about giving knowledge to everyone of a subjective opinion? Why do you care so much of how low or high others think of 300?
In addition to that, why did poor Sony get dragged into this very...thought- provoking discussion? It makes little sense to me. C'mon, STAY ON TOPIC. If we're discussing about how good or bad 300 is, let's keep it at that! What's with the personal insults and haphazard backfiring? Doesn't anyone know how to forgive and forget and start with a clean slate? Please, guys...
My smartass two cents have been tossed. Well, that's all I had to say.
