Ok so me and afq were having this discussion and basically im thinking of introducing GPU blocks as well to cool those monstrous 480's and 580's you have in your system. There are 2 options presented by XSPC.

1. Full Cover GPU Blocks.

These blocks are basically the type that i personally use on my own gpu's if you see my build. These cover the gpu processor, all vrm's, memory chips, basically anything that heats up on the card is cooled by this full block. But there are some negative points to it.
  • Costs more, Around 7-8k per block.
  • No use if you decide to change or upgrade your GPU. The block isnt compatible with previous or future models.
  • Heavy, the weight might scare some people off that it would bend the pcb (although it doesnt)
  • Installation: installation of full cover blocks is more complicated than universal ones.
2. Universal GPU blocks.

These blocks in my opinion, are best bang for buck. They are universal, meaning one block would fit a wide range of cards, AMD + NVIDIA both and are cheaper as well, around 5k per block. As always, this has some cons too.

  • No VRM+MEMCHIP Water cooling. You are provided with heatsinks to cool the vrm and mem chips.
  • Looks OK'ish (according to afq:p)
  • Installation can be a little tricky, I wouldnt know how much but they are supposed to be easier when it comes to installation compared to full cover ones.
Now a word of caution regarding both blocks. IN MOST CASES you will be voiding warranty if the card fails during installation or you mess up something. You will need to be pretty careful and clever to install the block and not let the warranty void too. But in my opinion, no matter how careful you are, once you switch out that thermal paste from factory to your own, the company knows you've been up to something. Anyways this is a discussion, maybe there's a way out of this situation too. So what do you guys think.

I'd prefer full cover blocks well because they look awesome and have vrm and other cooling options as well anyone who owns a GTX480 can afford a full gpu block..
Anyways will u only be bringing GTX480 or 580s block or will u bring blocks for GTX460 as well?

My suggestion is get Universal GPU blocks.

Reasons:

1. Its cheap compare to Full Cover GPU Blocks
2. A person who can afford mid/low end range GPU can also afford this block, it will remain in budget.
3. One block would fit a wide range of GPU's
4. Every one don't go for looks.
5. A person can also use this block when his GPU warranty ends and want to keep his GPU for long time :D

Just an idea
You people should invent/discover some technique/policy which don't ruin warranty :)
If that is possible than you can offer a Package some thing like this:

If buy both things separate:

Sparkle GTX 460 = 16,500
Universal GPU block = 5,000
Total = 21,500

Deal of the week!!!

Get Sparkle GTX 460 +Universal GPU block Only for = 20,000

Its a good idea but no one will waste 5k to cool a mid-range gpu so there's no point in bringing universal blocks high end users will buy these blocks aka full cover blocks as they care for the looks of thier rig as well ;)

full cover

although expensive than universal block but cools the whole card (processor, rams, etc),
i think its profile is more sleek than universal block
definitley looks awsome like some shit from a sci fi movie (tell it some one the material is a rare metal and he will believe it if he doesnt know about gpu blocks that is)
paint it flourescent and the whole effing card glows in the dark.

what other reasons do you want

yasir bhai the idea is right and for choice i think the universals one will be good for beginners and for most of the users :D because you know its a very difficult work to install the full gpu block and take alot of time. moreover cost is high so universal one is good for most of the members while the members with high end cards like 69xx 57xx and higher will not buy those because they cant :tv:

sirf prefer he kerna hai to, i will prefer full gpu block :D

Its bigger surface area and coverage of wholr gpu will help in cooling more as compared to the universal one. And we dont like universal things we like unique :p

well since majority of people are preferring full cover blocks, i might take some pre orders from people who are interested and get them their desired blocks of the specific cards they want. go to XSPC site and let me know which blocks for what cards you want and ill see if its feasable.

yasir bhai universal blocks are old and no one uses them... these days each GPU requires cooling for VRM which is important for high end GPUs.... no point in water cooling GTX 460 and lower... So my vote is for Full Cover blocks...

my vote goes for Full block (i clicked universal by mistake)
coz i don't think anyone with low to midend card would watercool his/her card..its for enthusiast not everyone buys watercooling kit
so its full block or no need to waste money

Did y'all see the new Assassin's Creed trailer? They finally made a AC set in Japan & then they put a negro as the male protagonist. Ubisoft is taking cues from Disney, and it isn't gonna end well for them, just like Disney. Go woke, go broke!
