i think games and files remain intact it tells you what will happen if you use check that as i rember it does not delete any installed things but better to get confirmed from someone else also

hmm someone must have done this because i think it would wipe the games do you have the installation files of the programs you are saying?or have you deleted them.

It just says apps....

Games and such others used on the desktop are softwares/programs.

Maybe it's just talking about the Apps to be used like Skype app and such.

Refreshing is like Reinstalling Windows, but more convenient (sort of).

Everything (including 3rd Party apps like Origin, as well as Drivers) will be removed, except those apps which you have downloaded from Microsoft Store, and the the accounts you have added in Win8 (for example, Accounts in your Mail App).

If you are worried about BF3, then dont be.

Remember my post in a BF3 thread, where i posted around 4 Notepad Pictures which were "Registery Files"? Well ... just note down the location of those 4 files, use some common sense and take a backup of those Registery Files. You wont have to worry about BF3 afterwards, ever. Just Reinstall Origin, Initiate those Registries, and Start Origin. It'll be back to its last known state (the point where you took the registries)

If its still not clear, let me know.

Besides, rumors are that a major update of Win8 is due to release, somewhere in Mid 2013. I do hope its true.

Some people were saying that it won't work again. :s

Still, i will try that method. If it works, fine and if not, I can wait.

I dunno the deal with RU key, but with me (I have the EU key), I just copy the folder somewhere else. After refreshing Windows 8, I just copy paste it to it's last location and it works like a charm without any patches to download or whatsoever.
