Wimax is not meant for online gaming i should say. This service depends on signal, in some areas you get good signals and in some you don't. But if you have laptop and want to use internet on go then they're offering trial offer in which you can experience their service and then decide that is it good or not. In seven days you won't be charged even a penny.

Well your location is Rawalpindi so i would recommend you Micronet Broadband. Their service and customer support is awesome. I won't regret by getting their service. And i am a satisfied customer of their service from two years now. :)

@Em0s, you using PTCL, which package? are not their troubles with it every second day? cause I heard that every second day, its speed get lowered to none, what do you say?

Ptcl suxx big time. There dsl is way better then ptcl crapo(evdo), but the customer service is shit.
I have ptcl dsl 4mb in my office its alrite but again if it goes down it doesnt come back for around 3-4 days atleast.
Also have ptcl evdo and its shit (read my other post 'ptcl evdo...warnin').

On the whole ptcl sucks balls...

p.s. I play world of warcraft using evdo and its ok still get lag most of the time..Am thinkin abt switchin ova to wi-tribe myself only coz of world of warcraft. Oh and you cant use this usb wireless to play ps3 (the usb installs a software inorder to run and ps3 wont let it...i already tried :S).

I have mobilink infinty(wimax) 512kbps, works fine on gaming :/ i do lag sometimes because of low signals(SOMETIMES). And i'm also switching to wi-tribe. No complaints from me about using wimax for gaming(if the signals are at max).

You probably don't get good signals in your area. My area is phase 6 defence, signals are always at max(except when im having voltage fluctuations). Gaming goes smoothly for me :/

Wi-Tribes service wont be better than Wateen's, Wi-tribe is runnig on leased lines, whereas Wateen has its own fibre network.... Wi-tribe might have higher speeds early on, but with time it would suck big time.....

As for ur second observation, ask ur lineman whether fibre optics is available to the DP at ur area, most of the cases u hav quoted are for areas whose DP is still running on Co-ax cable(sadly my area still runs on Co-ax, so i cancelled my DSL plan)....
