Why do you want PayPal?

So let me rephrase.

Assuming PayPal in its current form is not coming to Pakistan anytime soon. What about alternatives?

PayPal has many features which makes it well ahead of its competitors such as worldwide acceptance and payment and goods' security.

My question is that what is the scope of a platform in Pakistan which may not offer worldwide acceptance but gives security to both buyers and sellers? Yes, Cash on delivery exists but for it you need to get registered with a service provider for that and its not suitable for individual buyers and sellers.

I just had this question in my head so I felt like asking.

Why do people want PayPal in Pakistan?

Is it convenience because of ease of use?

Because easypaisa, jazzcash, omni are all there. But these services require you to go to shops right?

Security and Safety for money and products?

Cash on delivery is available.

Or is it something else?

Any thoughts are appreciated.

easypaisa etc are like western union if I am not wrong! MCB lite is the closet alternative to paypal in Pakistan

Availability and reliability.
They are basically an online bank which you can rely on, as well as having very safe policies for consumers.

Many websites have a paypal checkout option.
You can buy using one click. It will open a paypal login window, you log in and then authorize the payment.

Paypal offers buyer protection and seller protection.

You can send money to other people no matter what the bank is. I think that you might be able send money internationally too but I am not sure.
This is very good for freelancers.


You can have balance in your paypal account so that it acts just like a bank account. You can even link your bank account with it to transfer money automatically and have 0 balance in your paypal.

Then there is paypal financing, paypal credit etc.

But the most important thing is ebay.

Universal acceptance and 24/7 reliable availability are 2 of the prime reasons. A couple of my friends wanted to open a small website that offers competitive game coaching service. Due to no sufficient payment processor through which they could receive payments from foreign customers, the project was put to halt.

I absolutely love paypal! I made an account when I was studying in Canada. Still have it! It is super simple to use and I have it linked to my steam account as well! The integration makes transactions super simple. Personally IMO, our online retailing market would benefit hugely from the introduction of Paypal.

Although I dont know if its ever going to be a thing here Here's hoping!

Most of online international stores on ebay do not accept credit cards but paypal only. Each time I have to request to someone to buy something for me. I therefore wish paypal was here and things were so easy to manage at my own.
