the only saving grace I've seen for the 9600GT is its SLI efficiency, but doing SLI with lower-midrange cards seems to be SLI for SLI's sake to me.
Lower-midrange ?

Dont know where you're getting your facts from, overclocked, this card nears stock 8800gt performance, and in some cases equal.

And when i said its weak
9600 GT is quite weak

Sorry for all you 9600GT owners who were offended and are trying so desperately to defend this card. After all they own this card and dont want to hear anything bad about it. I understand. But guys, facts are facts, like it or not.

Saying that, its an excellent budget video card and gives a good bang-for-the-buck, but when compared to the high ends, common guys......
Excellent budget video card which is good bang for buck .... highend.

Do you even see what you're saying ?

Budget ... high end.

There is going to be an OBVIOUS difference.

So you tried 9600GT and were unsatisfied with it and placed a special order with some company to make 512Mb 8800GTX specially for you, and now you are unsatisfied from the performance of your two custom made 8800GTX and want to upgrade. Did I get it right? I think you should wait another five years, maybe by then the GPU making companies might be able to make a product that will satisfy you. Oh and do tell me name of the company that made two 512Mb 8800GTX specially for you, I might have some work for them.

guys, guys , guys...:)

thanks for taking interest in my thread...

first of all , i know what 8800 can do , but there a lot of money we r talking bout guys...

14 to 15 K is the best i can do, for now.... rite now i ve inno3d 7600 GS and i played crysis on it.

without AA and medium setting , the game did not lag much...but i wanted to get better fp's so

that i can really enjoy the game with higher settings...

now, what i believe is ,with those 256 bits , dx 10 and a higher core

clock, 9600 Gt will do the trick...

the XFX 9600 GT can be overclocked to 770 MHZ from 650MHZ....and BFG is 690 MHZ after

the overclock....and i was wondering if i could overclock the inno3d from 750 MHZ to

somewhere around 800 MHZ. without any issues .( I DONT know if its possible...guys i neeed

ur help on this)

somehow i ve started to like the inno3d ....since its 750MHZ stock...wat r ur views on it?

thanks

well, i'd say, get MSI, XFX, BFG and Asus 9600GT. that's the BEST you can get for the cash you've got:)

and it has quite good reviews. comes close in performance to 8800gt ( close, not overtakes).

Inno3D 9600GT I-Chill will overclock easily.

Dont worry about quality, just because its named Inno3D instaed of something cool with lot of X like XXFXFFXXX ... doenst mean its not good. It comes with an aftermarket cooler and those things are worth spending for.

I think you should wait until mid June when ATI's newline up will come.

That should lower prices .

And give you more options.

Also, inno3d cards are good at high end. But at the 8500- 8600 gt end they suck. They are made of cheap metal. Ive had a 8500 gt for 5 months and its rusting.

dude who told u to buy non-I chill version of inno??? secondly, is ur system under water :blah2:.....Ichill 8600 gt is one of the best 8600 gt released till date....

Ati's new line up is not gonna affect the price of mid end gpus.....only high end gpus like 9800 gx2, 3870x2 may get a price cut upto some extent.....

Good, nice one there man, with Xs :D.

Yeah that card(in fact all i-chill) has the highest overclockability that the nvidia vendors has to offer(just like Iceq for ATI). so dont worry.....

They are made of cheap metal. Ive had a 8500 gt for 5 months and its rusting.
In my knowledge iron is the only metal that gets damaged when oxidized which is referred to as RUSTING...
So all substances(alloys) that contains iron may get rusted, given that the conditions are favoring. Even the most high quality Stainless-Steel could catch rust if not cared for or if it has been exposed to water for extended period of time.

And where on the chip iron or its alloys are used.........
if your talking about extreme left side of the card which is used to suspend/fasten it to the case and looks like "7" or inverted L and ports, then no vendor has enough budget to use high grade stainless steel on such parts, especially on low end cards.........Vendors/companies use light quality parts where ever possible to minimize their cost so that we get it cheaper.........And this holds true for every vendor especially in the low end lineup.................

You talk like XFX uses gold or spacecraft grade alloy on their cards......
And the funny thing is that THE GOLD holds true for i-chill ports............ hehe :D
