Used phones?

Assalam Alaikum all :D

I'm looking for a new phone, under 20k.
I was wondering about used phones, the kind that are being offered by shops like Swift Connections, who claim that their phones are imported from USA and UK and have been very little used. And since it is my first time buying a used phone, I'm having doubts and so I was wondering what you guys have to say on the subject?

I was interested in something along the lines of a used Moto X (2013) which the above mentioned shop is selling for 18k.
What do you guys think? are these shops reliable?

Edit: Bought a Moto X (Alhumdulillah!).

Jbtw to anyone wanting to buy a used phone who happens to read this thread in the future, be sure to check out Star City Mall in Sadder, Karachi. You'll find shops selling used phones in immaculate condition which are reasonably priced. And the best part is you can check the device on the spot to make sure it's what you want.

Personally, I bought my Moto X from Shop No 53, First Floor, Star City Mall. You can go there, or check out other shops. They are much better than online shops which ripping people off.
[I'm not marketing any shop. I'm just making a point. I had a good experience with the shop I mentioned. You may or may not have the same experience. And be sure to check whatever you buy from anywhere, thoroughly before paying them. I spent about 40 mins checking the phone before making the payment.

Never ever buy anything used without checking it thoroughly. Cash on delivery for a used item is just plain stupid.]

And anyone planning to order anything from bytes.pk, remember, 90% of people who have commented in this thread have found bytes.pk unreliable. (as of 10th April, 2015.)
Their services may improve with time, but as of today, you'd be better off not wasting your time with them.

My opinion: salay chor ke bachay hain saray ke saray. Especially in Karachi mobile market where you cant even be sure when buying a NEW device.

If you wanna go for used sets start looking for friends who are selling and pray you find a good set, otherwise you're better off getting a new set within your range and having peace of mind.

You need to have a very long history on used phones when you're planning to buy one. If you don't have any past exp on buying a used device, don't buy it. I wouldn't prefer online shops like above. Better goto market yourself and then pick one after checking everything thoroughly. Moto X is no doubt a very good set. Ideal place to buy a used phone is of course PakGamers. Never go for olx esp if this is your first experience.

Yeah, this is my first time buying a used phone.
When I usually buy a phone, I check it's body thoroughly, it's buttons and stuff like camera, loud speaker etc. What else do you think I should check?

Plus would you recommend any shop I can get a good deal?

Cerberus, is this shop reliable?

@Cerberus, is this shop reliable?
First I look at the PG marketplace. Second, nobody else. So that's your answer. However, this new website bytes.pk have launched recently offering very competitive prices over used cell phones. I have received my first order last night, pretty satisfied, I have placed my second order now. I'd recommend you do the same.

Dont buy one which has been imported phone usa etc. They usually are carrier phone which are then unlocked. They usually cause problems and dont have resale value. When ever you buy, buy factory unlocked and international version.
Also, i wouldnt recommend you buying a used phone from market because its your first time. You will get cheated in some way. Trust me, has happened to me 2 3 times.
I will recommend you buy only from a friend.

I was thinking of asking this uncle I know who's in the phones business. He's a family friend tou I think he'll be reliable. Though theres a chance he may not be able to find what I want. So PG Market place is my 2nd option.

And to those who have shopped from bytes.pk, do you guys think its reliable for used phones?
They are selling LG G2 for 19k and Moto X for 14k. Which is really really hard to believe. From what I've learnt when buying gadgets from the market is that if something sounds too good to be true, its usually problematic. assasin42o murtaza12

Last day I went to market for searching of d855 lg G3 which is off course a international version the shopkeeper was a wholesaler of cell phone in fsd when he hand over the set to me for checking I was shocked as f400k was mentioned on back battery is also Korean and software is based on hk version and when I asked him he just replied that it's genuine and I supply all over Pakistan so moral of this long story is u can't trust local market and 2nd hand sets they sale

That's what I stated on my previous post. I had ordered a LG L9 to test these guys since the prices were very low. I got it yesterday and now I can say that they're for real. I have ordered a Moto X now.

Let's see if they resume again

Check my previous posts.

I had uploaded a complete detailed review on their thread but their sub expired and that thread got deleted.

Summarizing, I'll recommend it.

What was the name of the site owner though? I'm also thinking to get a Moto X for myself, the one I had my eyes on has been sold. Also, let me know when you get yours; hopefully it doesn't have any carrier branding on it.

assasin42o when you do buy the Moto X from them, let me know please. And be sure to explain everything from the condition to performance to the color. I'm thinking of getting the Moto X too.

Alan wake 2 is yet to recover it's development costs. Due to no physical release and no steam launch.
You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
