I'm also getting around 200kb/s download speeds despite being on a 1mb connection. I guess PTCL messed up some connections when they did the free upgrades a while back.

And about New line, you dont have to wait a Week. Just find your Area Lineman ... give him 100 or 200 Rs. and You will get yourself a New Line. Same goes for DSL manager but dont give any Money to Him ... Just pressurize him a bit and he will provide you a Modem
