This is where Trophies come into play :)
They give an incentive to replay the game. I never managed to replay UC 1-3 but I will definitely try to plat this new trilogy.

Also I don't know about you but a MP game demands a lot of time. Those who don't have the luxury of having free time, like me, have zero interest in MP. I bought KZ, BF 4, Advanced Warfare and never managed to play much of their MP, because I was always busy in finishing another game and going back to them solely for MP is not my idea of spending the free time that I have.

Of course, there are also those who just buy 1-2 games each year and play their MP all day and night *cough* Destiny *cough*
This looks like a hasty port to counter holiday drought and gears of war onslaught.

With no MP, Sony is telling me that they dont value gamers money but want a stop gap solution until big release next year.

MS is evil, but atleast they are putting effort and commitment into remasters.

i have the same situation but it simply does not mean that its cool to stip off a feature present in the original game
its an option and options are always good
just because a certain demographic has no time for the multiplayer it doesnt mean u remove it

If these are Bluepoint Games, as confirmed, then it is not a hasty port.

They were working on a PS3/PSV to PS4 remaster for quite a while (2013 atleast). Most people speculated that it was either Uncharted Golden Abyss or Gravity Rush Vita. It turned out to be Uncharted Trilogy instead.

In term of MP, there is no real incentive here. I do agree that the $60 price point is really greedy move by Sony. I would have been much happier if it was priced at $50 or $40 =/

Have you played Uncharted MP? Because trust me if you did, you wouldn't be asking this question :p

It is not Halo or Battlefield or Call of Duty type of MP :tv:

i played the co op locally with friends and it was fun
from the reviews i reckon the MP portion is not bad
its not ground breaking but its ok

the point is its not the quality of the MP or its fun factor its just that a feature is removed which many people might find interesting
anyway i will definitely try this when it goes for sale

Yarrrr.... Dont belittle Uncharted 2's MP.... It was pretty underrated IMO.... But good or bad, stripping a feature that was already present in the original game doesnt make any sense specially if its being sold at full price.

Uncharted 2 had an excellent, very under-rated multiplayer. And that same experience was ruined by Uncharted 3, as far as I'm concerned. Stripping the multiplayer component from the remaster is pretty disappointing. Especially if one has to pay full price.

Ditto. Not sure if NaughtyDog is being LazyDog or GreedyDog, or maybe both.

I think it's Sony's decision in the end. MP would have made them provide servers for the PS4 version across 2 different games.

Naughty Dog's busy makin' UC 4.

You also have to factor in future UC4 multiplayer though. If that is more like UC2/TLoU MP and less like UC3, I'll have no complaints from ND next year.

Port is not being handled by Naughty Dog but Sony hired Bluepoint Game sfor it.
Oh, I wasn't aware of that. It seems those devs have sufficient experience with online multiplayer given their history with titles like Titanfall and PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale.

I wonder why SONY didn't make them take on the multiplayer component; it really is a bit of a bummer, especially if its priced at $60.

I mean, they could have atleast sweetened the deal by throwing in the multiplayer for the two games along the lines of Halo: Master Chief Collection.
In my opinion, that sort of practice has significantly more chances of attracting the previous-gen user base who have already ported to next-gen as well as those who are totally new to PlayStation gaming.
It just leaves a rather bad impression and last thing we want is these top, reputable corporations setting such a trend and smaller companies following in their footsteps with the excuse of meeting certain deadlines (sounds like rushing a release which more often than not ends up in a disaster).

Some Uncharted 2 footage running on PS4

-Subtle changes in the lighting
-Improved AA and AF
-1080p 60 FPS
-I guess they are using a better POM solution.
-Improved character models
-No more dithered shadows
-More detailed textures
-Improved Draw distance

Comparison shot
PS3 left and PS4 on the right

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection's new modes make it easier, harder or faster

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection will include unique modes meant to entice existing fans to return and welcome newcomers to the fray, co-developer Naughty Dog announced today.
Naughty Dog and port developer Bluepoint Games are adding three additional modes of play to the three games in the package. Explorer Mode makes combat much easier so beginners and casual gamers can comfortably step into Nathan Drake's shoes. Speed Run Mode doesn't change the games, but slaps a timer onto the screen so players can track how quickly they're making it through. And the most skilled Uncharted fans will have a new challenge: Brutal Difficulty Mode, which is even tougher than the existing "Crushing" setting; it's unlocked in a game only after finishing the same game on Crushing.
All three titles — 2007's Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, 2009's Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and 2011's Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception — will also include new Trophies and a Photo Mode, as was revealed when Sony officially announced the Collection in June.
Uncharted publisher Sony Computer Entertainment released a new trailer for The Nathan Drake Collection today, editing together some of the series' most action-packed and emotional cutscenes to focus on Drake's relationships with his mentor, Victor "Sully" Sullivan, and his love interest, Elena Fisher. You can watch the trailer above, or at 60 frames per second on YouTube.
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection will bring the PlayStation 3's Uncharted games to PlayStation 4, in 1080p at 60 fps, when it launches Oct. 9. The $59.99 package will include access to the multiplayer beta for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.

You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
