After rigorous searching, consulting and delibrating, I finally gave in today and bought the 24" DELL ST2420L LED from galaxy. If you must know, the LED supports HDMI, DVI & VGA, alongwith the speakers built-in (not that I'm going to use those anyway). The LED came with not even the bare bone stuff, it was missing a power cord and DVI cable. Had to buy both of these seperately oO. Other than that, the LED is spotless. No dead pixels, no bleeding. Its just pure awesomeness. I'm absolutely loving it so far :D.

Don't let me bore you with my rant any further. Here are the pics. Enjoy. Note that this is my first unboxing, so I'm not that good at taking decent photographs :tooth:

^ Thanks guyz. This LED was just shipped a day before 9th Muharram. I was originally looking to buy the Viewsonic VX2450wm LED, which galaxy was selling for 23.3k. However, much to my dismay it was sold out when I went there to buy it. Saqib then showed me this Dell LED, that this thing just came in from shipment and it's freakin' huge in size. However, personally I didn't like Dell very much (had some bad experiences with previous dell models) so I didn't buy it then. Did some research online about this Dell model and was a bit disappointed about its reviews. Long story short, after checking from shophive, bellscity about the availability of viewsonic VX2450wm LED (both were out stock as well), I decided to buy this thing. But fate was about to show me why I wasn't meant to buy that viewsonic model. When I took the DELL LED for checkup at galaxy's lab, the same viewsonic LED was there. The guy showed me that it just came in the morning for warranty claim oO. There was a thick vertical white line appearing right in the middle of the LED, cutting the display in half. I checked the whites and blacks of this Dell LED, and thankfully it was complelely spotless alhamdulilah. I had to hunt for the DVI cable though, cuz it wasn't shipped with the LED (according to what these HC guyz say), which added another 300 to the cost. Originally, the price of the LED was 24,000, but I convinced him to give it to me for 23k. Had to buy the DVI cable for 300 from another shop, so that makes it 23.3k total cost wise.

So, here's my story how I ended up buying this LED despite the fact that I didn't like Dell monitors :D. But truth be told, I'm simply blown away by this LED's beauty and clarity. Don't let other people's prejudices and false stories make you think otherwise :).

Thanks once again...

Congrats, brother.

I also had these two options in mind.

Trust me! ViewSonic VX2450wm-LED has very high demand. Hence, the reason of its shortage.

I saw this DELL LED on POP. It was good. However, I have a habit of doing some research before I buy things.

As you pointed out, ST2420L does not have good reviews. General opinion is that ST2310 is much better. It is LCD though. Additional thing is its high cost (~24000). And it comes without required cables. If I am spending so much on a display device, I would want a fully loaded one.

ViewSonic LED had good reviews and is fully loaded as per its advertised features. It is also more affordable and has 3 years warranty. Therefore, I purchased one and I have no regrets. Result is great with no issues. It really shines in gaming and watching movies.

Point is that what works for you is good for you.

Thanks mate. I really wanted to buy the viewsonic LED. But it ran out of stock at all shops (including online). When I went to buy the Dell, I spotted this LED in there lab, where it came in for warranty claim. It had a nasty vertical white line appearing in the middle of the screen. I'm not sure what's the reason, but he told me that it was the 3rd viewsonic LED that came for replacement oO.

congrats on ur purchase

You're welcome brother.

Actually, lack of care and inadequate protection arrangement causes these issues. Many people here do not realize the importance of good protection for computers.

In Pakistan, problems such as lack of grounding and fluctuation are rampant. Large number of people do not realize this. They would treat a 70000 rupees or 7000 rupees item with same neglect. This is the problem.
