In my opinion..
Nvidia is shitty expensive and amd is much affordable. . .
I have heard somewhere that nvidia for gaming and amd for rendering
But if amd is for rendering why consoles like PLAY STATION and XBOX uses amd gfx??
And if m not wrong i think that nvidia is good for rendering...
Some people says nvidia got physix a/c to me not every game has physX
Some people pn Pakgamer says that amd has driver issues... i dont know thesr issues.. but i want to know..

My personal experience.... I have found Nvidia to be more reliable in the longer run. Their cards last more plus the thing about driver issues. every generation since 5xxx (i.e the time ATI actually started to catch up with nvidia in terms of performance) we have been hearing about the driver issues. You found one example of nvidia which I can't confirm if it is true as I am using the same driver version without any issues.

according to my experience amd are cheap,powerful ,low consumptionof power and can give their max performance above 100c while nvidia gpus are expensive power hungry and cant bear high temps.I saw many nvidia gpus get burned but never heard of ati/amd gpus .So my vote is with ati/amd

I agree with you on that one SETH as i always wanted to knw which one is better.
From ma experience (n i have been gaming from quite some time now) i have always loved both.

Both companies are fairly good when it comes to graphic cards.

I can go on with features and technologies but what it always comes down to is this, Nvidia has better software and Tehnical Support where as AMD has better cards (Hardware).

Its a battle of Cuda cores vs stream processor both does same task but in a different way.

AMD can improve their cards a great deal if only they had better drivers support.Though most of the problems has been taken care of with the arrivals Catalyst 13.4 which by far is the best driver ever.

Currently i am using a Club3d 7870XT and the card is the beast as long as u can keep the temperatures under control.

AMD is much better for gaming but lacks certain applications
Nvidia is a bit of both good for gaming and and good for 3d modeling.

If you look at price point and better cards interms of architecture -Shouthern Islands wins
If you look at better software support and an added features gaming experience -Keplers takes that one

U Simply can't choose one over the other at the end of the day it all comes your personal preferences, your pocket and the gaming experiences that you are looking for.

Even though i have used both, i tilt a little towards AMD cuz of bigger bang for the buck.
Though for ma new rig which is work in progress i am going for Nvidia.

If you got a lot of cash and are looking for brilliant performance, nVidia is for you. For people looking for good performance in an affordable price range, AMD is what they should choose. In the end, it all comes down to personal preference and neither is really better or worse.

I am not a fan of any company..
its actually bang for the buck...
And if u talk abt cards getting damaged..
then i can clearly tell u guys...that Nvidia Cards die easily then Ati cards..
Ati has a very strong build for there cards and they are more strong towards temperature..
they can bear more heat then Nvidia cards.
so the answer is clear...!!!
ATI is better in this regard...
Nvidia has Phyx...
then Ati has there Havoc engine..
both are optimized in different games....!!!!

For all who don't know, this Nvidia 320.18 driver crash issue is real. Me and my friend both were facing the problem until we reverted back to 314. But still I voted for nVidia

I have build my gaming pc in 2010 and since then have upgrade almost everything and when i was buying my first graphic card i was leaning towards nVidia but, ended up with HD4770 which serve me quite well and then after almost 1.5 year i decided to upgrade my gpu, i was leaning towards gtx450-550 but ended up with hd5770. for mainsteam or budget gamer nvidia is expensive and i can found same performance with ATI cards which aren't as expensive. and as far drivers are concern i have read it twice in three years that nVidia driver kill their gpu, amd can't be worse than that :chinese:. but still if i upgrade my gpu i'll consider nVidia, and might again ended up with AMD

Lol who told you that AMD cards are for rendering, they are not. AMD cards are good for Bitcoining NOT rendering. They offer performance at cheap rates. And gpus are only used for draft rendering, true rendering is done over the CPU. In in video trans coding CUDA (take Adobe Primier for eg) is heavily used which only Nvidia has. Nvidia is the master of rendering currently (the 6xx and 7xx gen) has some Double Precision issues but that aside they rule the render world.

Amd also does not have native 3d support. While Nvidia has perfect native 3d support.
ie Amd is for Bitcoining and Gaming
Nvidia is an all rounder.

In short if you want a non-headache deal Nvidia is the way to go. Overpriced but worth it. AMD obviously will give better value but at what cost?
