I got a bit of a situation here. I have a Xbox 360 Jasper (Almost a new one). A while back i played the 360 for One and a half hour and then i turned it off. I checked the side of the 360 and it was quite hot. Then my brother came and turned it back on after 15 mins which i know he shouldn't have done until the 360 cooled down. But when he pressed the power button it turned green for just a split second and then off again. I tried it several times even after the 360 had cooled down after half an hour or so and it again turns on (Shows the green power light) for a split second and then turns off. It doesn't show any of the red lights or so. I checked all the cable's. I reconnected them again aswell but nothing of this is helping me. I keep my console vertical so i even tried to turn it on while keeping it horizontal but still no luck. =/
So could someone please help me out. The Jasper cant die on me like this. =(

Edit: The fans dont even start up.

Just checked again and the power brick gave a red light. So does that mean the power brick is faulty or is it the console? Please someone help me. =(

Jasper doesnt die.. it hasnt.. Ive not seen a single Jasper die on anyone yet.. I think your power brick is dead.. your you have overall voltage probs in your home..

To test this do the following:
1. Check if your power brick is 110V or 220V.. if its 110V then it must be screwed because electric supply in our homes is 220V..
2. If its not 110V.. Go to anyone's house any friend probably and play your 360 there (This was my issue's cure, I found out I had voltage probs in my home)
3. If it doesnt work there.. Then ask anyone you know with a 360 to lend you his power brick (make sure its for Jasper and 110V or 220V according to your xbox) and use that..
4. If that doesnt work.. LOL.. LOL Requiesta de Pace (Rest in Peace) my friend..

1. Can you play movies from usb stick? what video formats does it support?
2. Does it have a internet browser or something like that?

Yep it supports wma and avi only through an optional update on xbox live.
It does have a hidden browser which you can use through windows media center.

Need advice on NTSC 360

First of all, please ignore my username. I never had the intention to post when I signed up.

Okay, after doing some research, including searching here, I haven't been able to reach a solid conclusion whether the NTSC 360 is an intelligent purchase. One shopkeeper told me that "about 80%" of the games would work on it. I'm getting one from America, because the Jasper is incredibly cheap right now over there. I'm not willing to spend more than 20k rupees on a new NTSC-J, because I've owned one before and it was subject to RROD.

Now I'm not trying to suggest that the NTSC will not get the RROD, but it's the price I'm after. Even if there are about 80% games that will work, is it worth burning games from the internet? I live in Lahore, BTW. Immediate reply will be hugely appreciated.

Dunno about media center but you will still be able to use that USB for storage.. After the latest update MS has decided not to cripple any type of storage services whatever.. when you get banned you just get banned.. nothing else happens..

Well you must understand what he meant by "80% of the games".. The shopkeeper meant generally.. NTSC has 20% less titles than PAL like Ashes Cricket or Final Fantasy or Metro 2033 (I think).. If you dont care about those games? the PAL titles then sure go ahead its worth it..

if u burn games urself then go for ntsc-pal....and if u buygames from market then go for ntsc-J....

I think so but cant confirm since you have to use media center which is not effected if the console is banned or not.

You won't find newer titles in Pakistan. You have to get them from abroad. Either thru a relative or a shopkeeper.

You can't watch the movies because the format isn't appropriate....The only way to play the movies is to get Media Update via Live which you can't cause your 360 is banned....So you should download movies in AVI format to watch in xbox 360. To clarify yourself further see the following table:

the game which i like to play the most always lets me down... So, I bought mw2 about 3 months back and i was lovin it, then about 2 weeks ago , it stopped working . it started giving the disc unreadable error. i bought another copy of mw2 , that worked for one day and then the same problem. After tht, i bought another disc and installed tht one to my hard drive. Now it works fine but now it doesnt find any games on xbox live. i hv to wait like 10-15 minutes. None of my other games hv this problem . They find games easily...

Probably a bad disk...If you are buying a burned DL DVD then you should always buy a quality one. Or its just your bad luck

My friends jasper just got the e74, i swear i shit you not, he turned it off and on, it booted up properly but he says its really slow. Any tips aside from turning it off for a while?

Jasper are very less prone to RROD. Your friend is just unlucky....The only solution is to let it fix but since very less Jaspers are RROD so it will be difficult to find the right person to fix it.

E74: AV cable error... There is a problem with the AV cable, try using a different AV cable. If the cable is known to be working then there is a 90% chance it's a scaler chip problem (the "ANA" or "HANA" chip connected directly to the AV cable) in rare cases it is the GPU.
