Played a bit of the next gen version of the Witcher 3 yesterday. The game looks absolutely phenomenal on the PS5. But after 8 years or so, the game is definitely (and understandably) showing its age now.

If you wanna play in Ray tracing mode check out this mod. Just a file you drop in the game directory that has ALOT more granular control over RT implementation instead of ON/OFF in game.

Gives a pretty significant 10fps boost with barely noticeable change in visuals

Ok, so I have set this up, 50 freakin' GBs worth of update.

Love the new controls tweaks for the spells & the haptic stuff.

No confussion/hesitation in selecting the peferred graphics mode for me, 60 fps all the way!

Will post some screens when I can.

The movement at 60 fps doesn't feel right!

Geralt accelerates like a freakin' Ferrari at the slightest of stick movement!

Also, that combat hasn't aged well after all these years & after all the recent great melee games.

The world & characters are still awesome though.

The graphics also look damn fine in the performance mode.

Cant go back to non RT "performance" mode visuals. RT is a game changer.

Horizon Forbidden West was declared as THE BEST looking game of 2022! ( Witchaa 3 with all its RT was considered among others ) I am not sure it even has any form of RT.

So much for RT being a 'game changaaa' !

Not to mention, the best place to play the game at #2, Callisto Protocol, is PS5/Series X. Sure, there are area load stutters on consoles too, but less frequent and less severe than PC

Speaks to the powaaah of path tracing that decade old games are being rated higher than 2022 games based on lighting alone. Ab HFW ki character rendering or dense open world Portal kese surpass kare?

Damn shame tho, that poor GTA V is entirely absent, even with its (terrible) RT updates
