I rang them up last night. They said the new rates are effective January 1, however, customers will have to call in to have their speeds upgraded (as in, no automatic upgrades). So - you might as well tell them to now, enjoy your upgraded speeds doe a few days, and then forget about it... Because PTCL won't upgrade your speeds unless you ask them (they'll upgrade the price though).Received the same message. However, I don't think I will be upgrading my connection to 25 MB though. 20 MB is more than enough for me. And they mess up a lot when they change ports. I am more than happy for SF reaching my area digging and deploying fiber, will be getting it as soon as they launch. Also PTCL will throttle like hell if they are increasing the packages, I wonder if they can cope up with the structure they have with the new packages. Pretty much speaks how they are scared of new fiber running ISP's.
See how sneaky they are?
Also, you no longer have 50 free minutes to call cell phones from the landline after this price increase.

Additionally, the call center guy had no idea about the upload rates. He said wait till January 1.
