congratulations :) :) :) your line stats are perfect. You got new msag in your area? and how far it is from your home. You can also increase your upload speed just call 1218 and ask them to upgrade your line to annex m for 2mb upload speed. And don't forget to check annex m in modem settings.
It has been there for awhile they installed it last year and I got the connection in January, I was using 4mbps before.
Distance not more than 300 meters including cable loop till pole.

No attainable rate, SNR or attenuation mentioned.

Only optical power. If that is out of normal ranges, you'll usually see an error message in ONT, dropped connection and maybe a red LED depending on the vendor.

PTCL was doing a site inspection a few weeks after FTTH installation in my area, and the installation contractor tried calling me since I was the only FTTH customer in Bahria at the time, but it was around 2 AM, so I didn't pick up as I was sleeping.

Later I called him back because I noticed my internet wasn't working in the morning, and I figured his call had something to do with it. Anyway, he later mentioned that they unplugged some things when they were doing a site inspection and he then fixed it from the MSAG.

Where exactly did you contact them? And what did you tell them? Cause I have been having this issue for weeks and still getting high pings.
All i told ptclcares i am having high ping to eu on bf4 he said send me pic of snr/attainable rate/speed test/phone# etc
i told i dont have snr etc due to gpon he replied your issue will be resolved on priority after 30min my ping back to 140ms thats its

So i have been keeping track of my ping lately. And turns out it increases during the day. But its back to normal late in the night.
Can anyone tell me what should i do to resolve this?

I never actually mentioned FTTH once in my complaints.

I started with a series of complaints about my pathetic DSL with shit line stats, keep in mind, these were only to PTCL Cares twitter handle. No fix.

I then started emailing them, didn't do anything. Would just get daily replied saying 'Regret the inconvenience, blah blah, your complaint is our top priority'.

Then I started CC'ing PTA in the emails, also did nothing. No response from them.

I was randomly discussing one day with a Pakwheels friend, and he gave me the direct email addresses of two PTA employees.
I emailed PTCL, CCd PTA.
Then I emailed PTA employees directly with a very solid case as to how PTCL was poorly handling my situation.

Then I decided to take things further, I printed out my email, shoved it in an envelope and mailed it through TCS directly to PTA headquarters in Islamabad.

Few weeks, complete silence. No emails from me, no response from anyone.

NOW I'll mention, in all the complaints and emails I sent, I said I want VDSL, since that was all the craze back then when someone had mentioned it. I wanted a 20 Mbps connection so badly at the time. I didn't think FTTH was reasonable to request because of the huge costs associated with it. From what I had heard, VDSL just required a new card at the MSAG cabinet and a new modem at the customers end.

One day I was out for a movie with my cousins, and my dad calls me saying there are some PTCL staff outside and they want to speak to you. At this point I had no idea they were there about my complaints, I thought they were just linemen that the exchange would send from time to time to check on my shit connection.

Anyway, I rushed home and saw two PTCL employees in their car outside.
Went to speak to them and explained how I convinced their bosses to approve this very expensive project, both insisting that I definitely knew someone in PTA when I actually didn't.

They said the projected cost for all the equipment is around 1.1 million rupees for all the equipment and they even waived the 30,000 PKR installation fees that they had for FTTH at the time.

From that time (mid-late June) after signing a new connection form, they started work in my street, and upgrading the MSAG. They dug up the footpath on the entire street and completed their work by the end of July. My connection was powered and active on the 1st of August.

Was honestly a dream come true, and I've been enjoying it for almost 2 years now (August 2016).
