Any update on transformed packages in rwp?? I am just fed up of waiting now

My local cable provider has started 8Mbps package and he is offering 4Mbps upload on it . But charges are 4K , I really dont think its worth it right?
I am paying 4100 PKR to PTCL now with 13Mbps profile as I have Smart TV as well, so I get 3Mbps upload speed

First of all really appreciate all the great people contributing to this awesome thread here. I only read few pages & found some useful information.

OK, so I've been using PTCL 4MB Broadband for a long time (like over 10 years) but this year has been worst for me compared to the past.

I've been getting very poor performance, specially uploading speed is mostly around 0.1 to 0.2.
I matched my connection stats with the stats given in this post & it confirms that its a D.B issue.

Speedtest by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test

And whenever I put even a small 5MB file in Dropbox and it starts upload, it literally jams my whole internet.

I've filed multiple complaints and its been for a while that the PTCL staff customer service keeps telling me the D.B (Distribution Box) is like 40 years old, cables are old and rotten in it, that's why I'm getting this issue. They also told me that unless their superior boss allows this D.B change, they can't do anything about it. And for no reason their superior is not allowing it.

I've also mailed PTA 3 times last month explaining the whole details but not even a call from them or pTCL yet!
What should I do now?

We did bro, in fact he recently changed complete telephone cable from the pole to the modem & we made sure he's happy lol. But he said they need approval from their superior to get the new D.B installed.

Get a petrol of Rs 10 and a matchbox of Rs. 1. And around midnight go and burn your D.B. After no internet of few days your area will get a new D.B

Well I was serious. PTCL doesn't have facility for the maintenance of ancient D.Bs. And one day it will be changed to the new one and old one would either become obsolete or go in top management's pocket in shape of cash from scrap. Give your self a chance and get better internet. BTW what is your location?

You dont need to replace the old d.p with new one
Your lineman can do desi work by cutting the cable from d.p and you can get a good pair from cable
I was also suffering from d.p problem my exchnage supervior offer me to get new d.p with in 2 days but my lineman told me dont go for new one it would be again destroy within 6 months because of poor plastic so he did desi work on his wish ..
And i now i dont have any d.p issue since 3 months

Bad News, one of my old DSL Guy came few days ago and I asked him about new Transformed Packages, he told me this.

Transformed Packages are failing, customers are not getting full speed. PTCL is only upgrading Exchanges in areas where they have major competition or have less bandwidth demand.

Areas with a lot customers using bigger bandwidth, those Exchanges will be upgraded much later (up to 1yr+)

Oh that means RWP exchange is not getting upgrade any time soon as it serves alot of customers and alot of bandwidth is used. So I guess its useless so I would just negotiate with my cable net provider with 8Mbps connection and 4Mbps or more upload. He agreed on 4Mbps upload but he is charging the same as PTCL which is 4K.

So I will ask him if he can give more upload speed and dynamic IP so I will shift to him.

OK Bro. By the way, how much the new D.B costs?
And can you please tell me the process of getting a new D.B?

How you managed to get the exchange supervisor convince on the new D.B?

I would prefer to go with the new D.B because I've been using PTCL broadband for over 10 years and never had any major issues with them. Sometimes its down due to storm etc but its usually fixed within a day or two and speed was always great until this D.B problem this year. So I would say new D.B is the best option for me for painless internet.

I have a regular 4mb ptcl package (1775 rs wala). but recently whenever i check my modem configuration page it shows that i am currently synced to 14306 down and 1069 upload speeds. a few days back, a new ptcl exchange box was installed infront of my home. I have a copper wire connection, maybe they installed fibre in the neighbourhood im not sure; didnt get the chance to ask the people installing that exchange box (a caged cupboard style box dont know the exact terminology for it). so anyway, now im still getting the same 4mb (450kb) speeds but the loading times of websites and pings in games (cs, dota2 etc) have increased. Can you help in the matter as to what maybe the issue?. I've registered a complaint but no response as of yet from ptcl.

brother, im in lahore johar town j3 block...if im upgraded then i should be getting 10mb speed, but its not the case. still getting the same 4mb speed with long website loading times.. anyway thnx for the reply.
