How is witribe 3mb connection for pings coz in my area ptcl sux

I think I will finally complain to them. The speedtest to the closest site was for me stagnant at 63ms now it's at 90ms+ - even ptcl community servers for CSGO are now plus 100 which is as you know impossible it used to be much lower. Somewhere these fools have messed around I will have a talk with them today. I suggest you do the same complaint and anyone else who is facing such issue. Let's see what happens!

We desperately need new international links now. SMW3/4/IMEWE is insufficient now as you all can notice from the SHITTY internet since last week.

We don't have a backup when an outage on an international link (in this case SMW4) occurs because of which everyone suffers with high latency, packet loss and low speeds.

Maintenance on SMW4 is expected to finish next week.

We have been informed by our upstream provider that SMW4 is going to perform a maintenance activity in 3 parts. The previously informed schedule has again been postponed due to technical and logistical problems.
Please find below the new schedule

Activity-1

Start Date/Time : 13th May 2016, 11:00pm, Pakistan Standard Time
End Date/Time : 14th May 2016, 3:00am, Pakistan Standard Time
Scope of work : Power re-configuration in SMW4 Segment-4
Impact : Degradation of Service on all international IP services

Activity-2

Start Date/Time : 15th May 2016, 5:00am, Pakistan Standard Time
End Date/Time : 22nd May 2016, 4:59am, Pakistan Standard Time
Scope of work : Replacement of faulty repeater (R4113) in SMW4 Segment-4
Impact : Degradation of Service on all international IP services

Start Date/Time: 22nd May 2016, 5:00am, Pakistan Standard Time
End Date/Time : 1st June 2016, 4:59am, Pakistan Standard Time

how the hell are u even getting internet working with those stats??? are these real? thats too low. attenuation also high. cause of this u get disconnections when phone is picked or if it rings. my advise, get it fixed. file a complaint.

The stats are horrible.
Call your lineman and beat the crap out of him.

Your upload speed sucks and for an 8Mbps line (which I assume you're on), and the downstream rate is also lower than usual.

Before calling the lineman, file a complaint for bad line parameters.

Already tried filing the parameters complaint, Got a call that they've fixed the lines and problem should be resolved. This was a week ago.

What now? How do I contact the lineman. Any other personnel I should contact?

Visit your local exchange
OR call 1217 and get the number of the local exchange.
Once you've done that, tell the exchange that you complained countless times and your DSL keeps disconnecting and there is noise in your phone line.

Surprisingly enough, I'm getting great pings.
Average 180 ms ping to EU West. (lux.valve.net)

That's not the EUW server though is it? It used to be.. I get 180ish on this server but in-game, EUW shows 300+.

Anything I can do to improve the ping further? Also, will this line be able to sustain 12mbps? Also, is lux.valve.net no longer the EUW server? I get 180 to it.. but in-game its 300+.

lux.valve.net is on 146.66.152.0/23 IP prefix while these days the games are on 146.66.154.0/24. I am in touch with the relevant people but will have to wait till the completion of maintenance on SMW4 to properly pursue it.

As for 12mbps, I think your line stability will be affected with 12mbps profile and having FAST data path, your attenuation is a little high as well. I suggest not to upgrade unless you can compromise on 15-30ms increased latency.

whenever i switch from Interleave to FAST my Line Rate changes to 8191 while on Interleave i get 9215... why is that so ... while the guy above still has 9215....
i have even tried changing back to interleave then back to FAST ...

The above guy is lucky he shouldn't be syncing at 9125 @ FAST data path :tv:

Reasoning from PTCL for this is that some bandwidth is lost/used up in error correction when on interleaving data path so to compensate for that they increase the line profile a little. However, on FAST data path, that is not the case so they pull back the profile to 81xx.
