Okay, how do I go about this?
Usually my exchange does stuff when I visit them physically, this time that didn't work either.

I requested for a 12Mbps upgrade a few days ago, been more than 4 now. The twitter guy promised a 48hour time frame in which the line rate would be changed. Nothing yet.
He keeps copy/pasting the same inconvenience is regretted bullshit reply but isn't doing anything about it. My exchange insists that I call 1236, which doesn't work as they just keep 'forwarding' my requests.

I don't want the bill of this month to show 12Mbps but I'm only getting 8.

PTCL issues

My PTCL was working perfectly till recently, I thought that my internet wasnt working so I called 1218 to fix, the guy made me go on the router ip and he told me to change something on the WAN service settings, turns out there was no issue I just hadn't paid the bill yet, the next day I went to pay the bill and ever since then my internet has been messed up. Randomly now I get 1500 ping in games after 20 minutes of playing, sometimes it doesnt even happen and i get to play one game in peace. whenever I call 1218 now for complaint they just send a guy but whenevr he comes my internet is fine and the line man says everything is fine too, the issue happens at random times so the ptcl guy that comes to fix doesnt see any issues. can anyone here help

The issue from Valve is fixed, they're optimising traffic again. Everyone should be getting <200-250ms to EUW soon if not already.

You should take screenshot of modem port speed showing 8mbps as well as speedtest result showing 8mbps connection as well. And when they send bill for 12mbps go to nearest PTCL OSS One Stop Shop and ask them to adjust the bill accordingly. Or talk to some one in exchange (more senior and more gullible the better).

Is ping OK or higher than what it should be? I am in Lahore so ping to intl. servers is usually a bit higher than what PTCL connections in Karachi get.

Yes its a little higher than what it should be but Valve is still optimising traffic from their end so lets see.

How are you connecting to the router? Via Wi-Fi or are you wired? A traceroute to the server (when the issue occus) would be helpful.

It was done at 5:40.
It's 6:30 now. No DCs thank God, but SNR has taken a huge nosedive.
Was 24.0 dB before, now it's 11 dB.

Should everything be fine? Or is this time to panic and tell him to undo the changes?

As long as you don't face any desync issues then yeah they are fine. SNR do decrease quite a bit when Modem is syncing at 50% or more of max attainable line rate. If they set the port rate to 23mbps on downstream then they will drop even lower than 5dB.

i think so they are using some ddos protection too so what we see on the client is not the real ip.

Anyway I can connect to just the former one? In game I'm getting a constant 260 ping to EUW.
