Sent from my Xperia P using Tapatalk
Called their helpline. Apparently there's a promotion going on until 31st March 2015. We get 2Mbps at the same price :D

I've tweeted the PTCLCares guy to confirm.

My router is giving me problems. I went to the exchange and the guy there said that a replacement of my router with a used router will cost Rs 1500 while getting it replaced with a new router will cost Rs 4500.
Is that true? Why don't I just buy a router from the market? It'd be hell cheaper.
I've tweeted the PTCLCares guy to confirm the prices but he just said he has lodged my compliant with the branch manager at my exchange.

Any advice?

Buy a new router with Built in Wi-Fi functionality. I have a TP Link W8961ND. Have been using it for a year now!

Your line/DSL profile has been updated but not your DSL username.

Hmmm. I know Line Profile & Port Speed (as per 1218, both are set to 8MB), but what is this DSL Username? Kindly explain me this so I can tell those idiots at 1218 as well.

Oh I just remembered, people at F-8 Exchange said my area don't support connection above 4MB, not even on Fiber lol

Well, its the ID with which you're authenticated with PTCL servers and get internet connectivity (every DSL connection has one). You'll find your username on your modem's page -> Advanced Setup -> WAN (or WAN Service) -> <It will be in the interfaces with a description like "pppoe_8_81">
Reference image (click the edit button, highlighted interface):

Anyways, your only option to get it rectified is 1218 or www.twitter.com/PTCLCares so yeah ... Not fun I know :p

OK, so I'll tell them that speed package for my Username is incorrect & ask them to fix it to match with my Line Profile/Port Speed, which is 8MB.

Sent from 'Moto G' using Tapatalk.
No, keep it simple. Just say that your line profile is of 8mbps but you're still getting 4mbps speed, that's for 1218.

You can mention username when messaging PTCLCares, he'll understand.

So i finally managed to get 8 mbps promo on fiber optic, the speed is satisfactory but the ping i get in online games especially on US/CA servers is not that great. Even my nitro gave me better pings ~330 ping but this gives me ~310. Is it normal? I mean shouldn't it be more than that?

Ping is the time it takes for data to go from your computer to the other computer and then come back to your computer. So lesser the ping lesser the lag.
So
310ms is better than 330ms

First up, please post an image of your line stats (preferred) or if you're going to post in text form then put it under
Code:
[./code] tags, I've edited your post this time with [code] BB tags.

Now coming to your query, there are way too many factors involved in latency. Also, I need some info first to give an opinion, post a [I]traceroute[/I] to the destination IP (the server you're connecting to). And not sure if a typo but lesser the ping the better.

My ping is 310 which is comparatively better than 330 i used to get with my nitro. But still it is high enough considering i am on 8 Mbps Fiber. I have read that PTCL broadband gives around 250 to 270 on US/CA servers.

Some US servers are in the range of 250 and some are 350+. Depends on the server and the path being taken.
