Rumour: Hamilton To Merc, Perez To McLaren

McLaren's hopes of retaining Lewis Hamilton are fading with reports he could be lured to Mercedes by big money and the chance to work with Ross Brawn.

In the wake of the Belgian GP reports emerged claiming that Hamilton is off to Mercedes next season to replace the retiring Michael Schumacher. All parties, though, were quick to deny.

The rumours refused to die down with Hamilton questioned about the matter several times during the Monza weekend. The Brit refused to give a 'yes' or 'no' answer, adamant he's focusing on the title race and his management team on his future.

XIX Entertainment, Hamilton's representatives, are believed to be locked in negotiations with McLaren while having also spoken to Mercedes about the British driver.

Hamilton, the report claims, is "shocked by McLaren's unwillingness to at least match his current salary."

As for Brawn's point of view, the Mail says he views Hamilton as the "final piece of the jigsaw" needed to put Mercedes at the front of the pack.

And its confirmed. Hamilton has signed for Mercedes and Perez has signed for Mclaren, still no word on MSC's future.

Think MSC should retire for the better. There are rumours about him going to Sauber, but if he has any sort of pride he will rather quit than going further down the field.

Interesting move by Lewis though. It's a risk and no one can say for sure what will happen. Only time will tell. Though I hope he does well at Mercedes. F1 needs a fit and fighting Lewis.

As the chequered flag was waved the yellows were still out for Raikkonen's car meaning his rivals were forced to back off in that sector.

Asked what happened, Raikkonen said: "I spun."

Nice race btw. Though Grosjean was at it again. Alonso unlucky, so was Webber. All played out at the hands of Vettel though, only 4 points behind Alonso, in a better car. Think he might just nick the Championship like last year.

Felipe's last 5 races have been very strong, I think Ferrari will re-sign him for another season.

Vettel very very lucky.

WTF is wrong with McLaren? Their car can't even finish the race. That's the 2nd time in last 4 or 5 races that Lewis has retired while being in the lead. No wonder he wants out of McLaren. Good for F1 too, might make Mercedes get their act together and fight with the teams in the front. Certainly hope so.
