My teacher sucks. On one side of the board, she's teaching reactions and identification of gases. on the other side she's teaching moles and limiting reactant. She ends up confusing everyone.. 90% of the class failed both the assessments:/
Read the book and if there's any confusion or anything that you don't understand , you can PM me.I'll be glad to help you :)

I'll be giving my Islamiyat and Pakistan Studies exam next year. Any tips for preparation? For Islamiyat I'm using the book by Yasmin Malik, while it's Huma Naz Sethi and Nigel Kelly for Pakistan Studies. I also picked up the David Thomas book for Islamiyat because it's endorsed by Cambridge. And speaking of endorsements, I noticed that my school (PakTurk in Chak Shezad, ISB) doesn't use the officially endorsed books for Chemistry, Bio and Physics.

These are the textbooks that I'm currently using:
Chemistry: A Course for O Level by Christopher Prescott
Physics: A Course for O Level by Chew, Cheng and Foong.
O Level Biology by Mary Jones (this book is peculiarly short)
Math: The 4 Ds.

Granted I won't be giving the exam for these four subjects until 2015, is my lack of officially endorsed textbooks any cause for concern?

Also, I'm in dire need of good study habits. What do you guys suggest?

AFAIK, just follow the official syllabus for the papers you want to prepare for. Don't follow any specific book. Download the syllabus for the year and subject you're going to give from Xtremepapers.

For ISL and Pak Studies, learn everything and practice a lot. You need to practice your writing speed like A LOT.
Ofc, you need to learn cleverly. You can leave a lot of things in ISL specially. For geog, you should learn everything because it's really very easy. History is pretty easy too. I'm not sure if the pattern has changed or not but we appeared this June/July and we could do questions like this that we could leave Section 3 and do the other two sections; still completing the paper.

Bro I would recommend you to study from various sources, such as books and notes from various authors. Just gather all the information in your mind and then read the marking schemes to learn how to answer the questions. For Pakistan Studies, study from the books of Huma Naz Sethi, Nigel Kelly and Farooq Bajwa and from the notes of Sir Junaid Akhtar. For Islamiat, use the books of Ayesha Tariq, Farkhanda Noor and Iftakhar-ul-Haq and from the notes of Sir Zafar Alam. First you'll have to spend few months just trying to learn and understand the topics and then try to answer the questions according to the marking scheme. Just remember that you'll have to understand the topics here, rather than rote study. In the end, you'll have to practice past papers and manage your time in such a way that you complete your paper with atleast a margin of 5 mins for rechecking.

Pattern for History will change in 2015 supposedly but I would not recommend anyone to leave section C because in my opinion, it is quite easy. Actually the thing is that the candidate can leave any 1 section, not necessarily sec C. But leaving a single section will take away the advantage of choice in the paper.

You should keep checking. I'm guessing they would be available in January.

In this case, the ending date must be around early or mid March.

Must be mid-late Feb considering practicals begin in March and paper exams April.

No word from this thread lately?
Oh well mocks are near. I'm doing pretty well in my studies, but I'm not being able to exceed A grade in Maths. I want to score A* in my mocks and CIEs in Maths so I need help for that. Xerolt9! Bro you used to say that you weren't very good at Maths, yet you scored an A* in your maths CIE so, got any tips to share?

Also, I want to score an A in my English mocks and CIEs. Luckily I got an A this year in my grade 11 mid year exam because I was able to write an interesting story. However, usually my stories aren't very interesting so I end up with a B in English, but I dont want anything less than A grade now so give me tips guys!

Math only improves with practice. I was stuck with Bs and Cs until my final term. I just picked up past papers and started solving them from January, and by march i had improved a lot. You have little time, so i would recommend doing past papers from the last 5 years, both sessions. Thats a total of 20 papers (10 paper 1s and 10 paper 2s)

Thats all you can do. Practice, practice and more practice. Thats all ive been doing and MashAllah se, ive improved a lot and am not having problems in A level math either, despite not having Add. Math.

Also, i know a lot of people wouldnt recommend this, but keep redspot math papers with you. If you need to know HOW to solve a question, redspot is your friend. A lot of people told me to burn redspot books, but tbh, theyve saved my life on multiple occasions.

Also, study everything else first and then tackle math. I used to solve 1 paper every night after i was done with everything else. Solving math problems is easier when youre more relaxed. Two papers every night during study leave for CIEs was a great strategy for me.

Lastly, my Math CIE was horrible (Paper 2 especially). I think the reason i got an A* was because of percentile.
