^Sometimes it does not mention that. You have to follow this format then.

The paper was nice ^^ I wrote on Descriptive.

Yeah, it happens all around the world. That is why CIE doesn't allow to share answers before 24 hours have passed.

^That's a real possibility, but the time differences make it really hard. For example, if you have a cousin in a country where the paper is being held 2 hours earlier than here, you still won't get to know the questions. By the time your cousin is done with his paper, you'll be sitting in the examination hall.

Damn, the Biology syllabus is really long. I've still got like 5 chapters left to study. I'll just wake up early tomorrow and finish those off. I revised them last week so they shouldn't be a big problem.

Why is this thread so silent? Share your thoughts people!

Help needed. How to keep 10m answers as short as possible while maintaining the level 4 quality? Ofcourse I always do mention at least two references in the answer but sometimes, while explaining, it takes so much time that I would run short on time during the paper.

So, you mean to say your cousin told you? ._.

Btw, it would only work if you have a relative in the same Zone. And, normally same zones have early same timings as well.

NO! Not at all! I swear, I only have cousins in Pakistan, in Karachi, and their ages do not exceed 7years, therefore none of them are giving O level Exams. I was just asking if that was possible :)

Yep, covered the syllabi. Except for 3 chapters in Physics, which I shall do tomorrow. They aren't that hard.

I solved 5 MCQ and 5 Theory for Chem and 5 MCQ and 3 Theory for Phy. I made a lot of mistakes in the latter in MCQ's though, so I'm going to brush up on that tomorrow.

Physics MCQs are the easiest and have a low G.T.
Chem are ok. I used to get 35 on average. Got something like the said in the finals too. Ho jai ga. A lot of MCQs repeat and most are very easy anyway (especially Organic!)

Just focus on P2. THat's what makes or breaks your grade. Make sure you know all the formulae and their application.

Try and solve the papers timed and without marking schemes at hand. That's the best you can hope for at this point of time.

Hi. Q on a friend's behalf. In Eng. Lang. paper 1 (Writing; Q2: Creative Writing).

He said that he had written almost 250 words in it and the limitation was 350 to 500 words, is the examiner gonna give some or maybe a few marks on that OR it's cancelled as nil?

"Word limit carries 1 or 2 marks maximum" is what I've been told by my teachers, but that was for when my word limit would exceed the limit. I don't know what would happen if it was below the limit. Logically, the examiner should give the marks and then take away a maximum of 3 marks for not falling into the word limit. But since your friend has written less, his content is below the expected mark and so his composition won't be that good.

Re: The Official ‘O Levels’ Thread.

For Urdu? If I exceed the 150 word limit in part 1, will my marks be deducted?

Lol.

Bear in mind, at O Levels, there is never negative marking. You can never lose a mark. You either gain a mark or you don't. It's A Levels where stating XYZ would negate the whole answer and result in the loss of a mark/marks even if the rest is correct.

Likewise, they cannot cut marks like this for exceeding lengths.

Earlier on, the ERs said that take the average of 5 lines, divide it by the upper limit, rule a line across the line where the upper limit finishes and ignore anything written beyond that line, thus you were marked for the 600/700 allowed words. I've forgotten what the limits were.

180-190 is acceptable. 300 is not.
