xbox 360 takes up about 7 gigs of space for system updates and other stuff, this is normal it happens to everyone... The max you get is around 13GB.
This is normal, there is nothing to worry about 13GB space , as it goes into system memory..And to play online you first have to purchase a year's Gold Membership card which cost around Rs 3000. But but as your 360 is new you have free two months trial package, you can utilize them and then go for membership card.
The Xbox 360 reserves 7 GB space for its own system.. It cannot be cleared..
To play on live.. you have to connect your Xbox to your modem.. then go in your profile and click on Connect to Xbox Live.. and just follow the steps.. You get 1 month free for each profile and the maximum number of profiles on live per xbox is 3.. so 3 months free.. 1 month each in 1 profile.. if you dont wanna make a new profile and do the trial all over again, you have to purchase Live subscription..
Are there any other useful optional updates that one must have like the optional media update???
is there a way we can add free avatar items in xbox360 plus is there a way we can add them by injecting them through usb?

Is there anyway you can copy your media files form the usb stick to the xbox hd?-officially you cant but is there any other way?
