Salam BROS!
Today, I'm going to tell you, the difference between the Intel Core i7 and the Intel Xeon processor.
Most people find Xeons very cheap, and the sellers exaggerate the Xeons, saying they're equal to this & that..
First of all, you must know what ARE Intel Xeons and i7s.
First up, the Intel Core i7 is the high-end processor line-up of the Intel's Core i series. These processors are "consumer-grade", meaning they are meant for normal workloads like gaming, rendering, etc., just the normal use of consumers.
On the other hand, the Xeon is a "SERVER-GRADE" processor, meaning it is made by Intel, for 24/7 use, and they're meant for handling server load, not gaming.
People buy 6 year old LGA 775 Xeons for cheap prices, but they are not just good for gaming. I suggest going for an i series processor, because it's simple as that.
Xeons are for server-grade workloads.
i series processors are for consumer loads.
Today, if you go to the market, and try to buy a latest Xeon, those processors will be 1 Lakh+ easily, because they are server-grade, and big companies buy them, they are not made for consumers.
They can perform good in gaming, meaning a Xeon can compete with an i7, but the thing is, the i7 4790K (Costs around 36,000) is almost equal to the Xeon E series processor, which costs 1 Lakh+, pretty expensive? Right?
Other thing is, if you're tight on the budget, and you go for a Xeon that is 6 year old, I suggest going for an i3, because i3 will be of same price and it performs almost equal in most games (few exceptions like GTA 5, AC Unity, etc., because of 2 cores). And the other disadvantage is that, when you want to upgrade from an old Xeon to a new processor, you will have to change the whole freakin' motherboard, which will cost you a lot.
In my opinion, I suggest going for a consumer-grade i series or Pentium Anniversary series processor, rather than a Xeon, because I think that i series are more future-proof and better in the long run.
