Watching Hasnain spray the ball cluelessly after getting trashed to all parts of the ground, I realize how mightily the exclusion of a fourth pacer in Wahab or Irfan will cost Pakistan.

I agree with the final 15 squad but inclusion of Wahab is a question mark. I dont remember him bowling well for a long time, not even in PSL.We know he can spray the ball all around and lose rythm.

He was among the top-three wicket takers during PSL 4. Granted he can be awry with his line, Wahab is still the ideal fourth pacer to have in the team instead of Hasnain.

Irfan could have been another choice, but I believe they are reluctant to play him based on his lack of ability in the field. Definitely should have been picked for the final squad, regardless.

Hassan AftabThese are most wicket takers since WC 2015 for Pak. I still think Junaid and Shinwari are better than Wahab.
Irfan i think had fitness issues due to his big posture and couldnt make a come back since then.

I get what you are saying, but Wahab has not been played in international cricket in two years (which actually goes against his selection, I appreciate) while the likes of Shinwari have had a downward spiral, starting well but struggled terribly of late.

It is indeed sad that Junaid was dropped based on a few matches' performance. Poor guy get a chance after ages and he gets axed in no time.

I am hoping against hope Wahab will bowl a consistent line and length. There is no question about his pace, but it's the consistency he lacks that could be so valuable in the middle overs (I am reminded of his spell against India in 2011 WC)

Wahab and Shinwari are same kind of bowlers they have pace but no line & length specially in last 10 overs. our bowling is very weak compare to other teams..Happy for Asif that he got selected but sad at the same time because of his daughter's death :(

Positive signs with Wahab Riaz generating reverse swing. He still has some way to go with regards to controlling his line and length.

Concerns still rife with Amir struggling to pitch the ball up and generate swing. He continues to hit the short length in pursuit of economy but that's clearly not enough.

Now it's up to the batsmen to play responsibly and post at least 300 runs so that the pace attack has enough to defend.

West indies scored 421 against against Newzealand. Newzealand is much better side than Pakistan so if they lost then what will WI do with Pakistan.

You cant judge on the basis of warm up matches as they are not official. Pak team even lost to Tasmania (state team) during warm up's in 1992.
Lets hope this WC brings happiness on the faces of Pak people who are going through tough times.

England doing like a boss in their own conditions. I think Pak will also take advantage of being familiar to the conditions unlike other teams. Good start to the world cup.

Have you seen Sarfaraz's face when pak lost to Afghanistan if warm up matches are not important then then why sarfaraz was upset..yes you are right about judging but those were WC warm up matches so winning does matter..i also want Pak to win every single match but our team is on a losing streak and i am still hoping that our team will win.

The standards are way too high, judging by this first game between England and South Africa.

Pakistan has no chance if it goes half-cocked as it has in the past 15 matches or so. Even West Indies and Sri Lanka seem like quite challenging opponents at this point.

These guys REALLY need to up their game.
