Welcome to the Anime Collectibles thread.

Here you can:

• Show your Anime related collections. (Preferably with pictures)
• They can be Anime Figures, Statues, Trading figures, Gashapon/Capsule Toys, Gundam, Model Kits, Cosplay, Apparel, Comic Figures (Marvel, DC etc), Dolls, Plush, Books, Magazines, Manga, Light Novels, DVDs, CDs, Blu-ray, Trading Cards, Calendars, Accessories, Games and Visual Novels or any related Merchandise.
• Talk about merchandise, from latest releases to asking questions about it.
• Stuff you've pre-ordered, are considering to buy or trying to find.

A few important things we should follow so this thread stays alive:
1. Please don't spam.
2. Please don't post 18+ material (Including figurines).
3. Avoid making posts that will start a flamewar.
4. To host your pictures please use photobucket or similar sites. No direct linking from other sites.

Buying Guide & Help

There are two methods that you can use to buy Anime merchandise. One is using a Credit Card and the other is to use Money Order services such as Western Union or MoneyGram. Money orders cost more and are only an option when you don't have any other way of sending money. Other methods include Bank Transfer and Cashier's check.

Here's a list of sites that I've purchased from in the past:

1. Play-Asia (Credit Card, Western Union)
2. J-box/J-List (Credit Card, Western Union)

4. Toyslogic (Credit Card, Western Union)
5. Kirin Hobby (Credit Card, Western Union)
6. Hobby Search (Credit Card, Alert Pay)


Fake and Bootlegs:

Bootlegs are unlicensed and poorly made copies of Figures. Like those china made toys you might have seen on some stores.

Buyers mostly are ripped off purchasing a figure on ebay. Ebay is filled with scammers.

Some things to look for to determine a bootleg:

1. Color is usually off or dim compared to original.
2. Paint detail such as the face is off, cheap looking, low quality.
3. Detail of the figure such as hair or clothes is slightly different.
4. Quality of PVC used may be of lower quality.
5. The price is too good to be true.
6. Check for official stickers on the box. Most manufacturers put their own stickers to declare a product's authenticity.
7. Avoid sellers from Hong Kong or China on Ebay.

Aerith Gainsborough - Final Fantasy 7 - Square Enix

I actually liked this figure compared to Square Enix's Bleach series because these ones include a stand. The Ichigo Figure would always fall and I had to glue it up to the shelf with UHU to make him stay there.

Plus it also had a stand support

I like this one better than the Crisis Core Ver. because Aerith's head is too big in that one, though the dress was nice. I would've ordered that one if they didn't ruin the head :'(

Black Rock Shooter Original Ver - Re-run - Good Smile Company

I'm glad I found this one, very detailed fabric. The weird part is that it was the last one in-stock at Play-Asia.

Shigofumi: Letters from the Departed Non-Scale PVC Figure - Organic

I read this Light Novel when my cousin brought it with him from Japan. It was really nice. The story is about Shigofumi, a mail carrier who carries after death letters to people.

I haven't seen the anime yet but I'm looking forward to it. This was a limited edition figure. I didn't even remember the name of the Novel until this figure reminded me of it. Thats also how I got to know it has an anime adaption.

Gutto-Kuru Figure Collection: Eve Tokimatsuri - Series Megazone 23

She appears in Megazone 23 - Part III. Though I don't know what this show is about, its a bit old. I liked the figure thats all.

Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni - Angel Mort Figures (Rena/Mion):

I had the swimsuit ver of these figures but the Rena swimsuit ver was horrible, it was really short in height eventhough being from the same Figure series. Mion and Shion looked almost the same. So I ordered the angel mort ver. which are much better and more detailed.

Sonozaki Mion - Angel Mort B Ver. Banpresto

This is my old complete set of the Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Rei series:

Rena is really short =.= I mean she's supposed to be slightly shorter than Mion and Shion (left).

It's not a waste of money ...

I work as a comic artist/manga artist ... I buy what I want.

I myself collect anime related merch ... shirts ... posters ... figures ... and even dvd boxsets and manga volumes. I personally think that if you love what your buying and want to keep spending money on it and feel that its money well spent, do it!

btw I see you hve Dark Saber, the Strike Witches Figures AND Reina from HIgurashi? NICE DUDE!

So yeah, spend money on what you like ... anyone disapproves tell em to fuck themselves.

When i was 15 i really wish to collect Transformers universe , Gundam Universe and Macross Universe figures and Lego stuff. As i was growing up didnt get time to collect those figures and i'm grown up now and feel sucks to be grown up i wish to be 18 or 19 now to collect those figure i want.

I started collecting an year ago. I got 40+ figurines but a lot of people have opinions against my hobby.

Personally I say that it isn't a waste. The only time it feels like a waste is when you pay a good price and the figure turns out to be a bootleg/fake. but I'd like to know what do you guys think on collecting Anime figures and related items?

well it's seems that i found some friend here in PG who also collecting figas.

My collection were mostly on max factory's nendo from lucky star series, as well as k-on!, FSN, Guran lagaan, i saw u got yoko there. tell me if you want to sell it. as i got both nendo and figma series
i recently bought mio akiyama school festival costume from alter and senjogahara hitagi from kotobukiya. I am waiting fro solid snake to arrived maybe this week or end of december.

for me it's not wasting your money on it, like others we do treasure figurine sculptures and painters as they are the one who make the character came out from the 2d world.
other may waste their money on cars, arms and nerf guns. so it's not the bad i we waste it a little at figurines that we like the most.

i just want to know from where u buy these figurines? maybe we can share and shop together if you're in karachi.

Nice to see someone into action figures! I am a collector myself.I don't own a huge collection but have the following:-
1) Darth Vader
2)Batman (the dark knight figure 12" with rectractable cape)
3)Batman from animated series 6"
4)Superman (Superman Returns)
5)Starscrean (Transformers)
6)Ninja Turtles (Michaelangelo,Donatello,Raphael)
Screw those who say it's waste.A hobby to someone can appear a waste of time to the other.It's a total guys (nerds actually) thing.People decorate living rooms with flower pots,paintings and stuff.A guys room is supposed to be filled with Movie/Video Games/Bands/Sports personalities etc posters,action figures and stuff!

YAY I found a hobby friend
I also pre-ordered Mio school festival ver but it kept getting delayed at the shop where I buy from, so I had it replaced with Mio Movic Ver. but that wasn't a good idea I also purchased "The Boss" figure from ebay but the seller turned out to be a scammer. That was the first and last time I bought something from ebay.

I buy from toyslogic.com and jlist.com. there are a lot of other great sellers but one must have a credit card to purchase from those. As for these two, they accept western union so its great for me .
I currently have 7 pre-orders from toyslogic and I also recently bought the rare Elfen lied figures from wave ^-^ I'm from Hyderabad.

o.o I'd like to know where did you buy those from, especially Starscreen. My usual stores don't sell DC figures or Transformers.
