Yup. Most of my time was in handheld mode. And regarding the playtime i think there is still alot more potential in the game since after completing there are news Moons placed all over the maps that are even more challenging.

i honestly m not the type to do those chorus of replaying even a single level.. when i was in my school college days i would have done those but at this time of life... i would rather finish a game and move on to the next... apart from the few MP games i play with my friends.

ladies can do it

my wife loved super mario 3d world she even took each n every star even the levels after ending the game.. it was crazy.

Same here mate I dont like replaying games either, get bored pretty easily. The only games that i have replayed lately are Witcher 3, Breath of the wild and bloodborne.

Lol. Thats some dedication !!! Odyssey's end game content is a bit different from the likes of Galaxy and 3D world since the stars in the previous games are already in the map and you have to go the extra mile to find them. In odyssey the end game stars are only to be found once you start replaying the game and although the map is the same, the areas and platforming are not. So it does give you at least some sort of new stuff. Plus collecting them all unlocks another hidden level - similar to the previous entries.

[h=1]Nintendo’s new Super Mario breakfast cereal is also an amiibo[/h]
[h=2]100 percent of your daily recommended NFC[/h]

Kellogg’s and Nintendo have teamed up for Super Mario Cereal, a sugary breakfast cereal designed to promote Super Mario Odyssey. In addition to bringing Nintendo-themed cereals back to store shelves, the release is noteworthy for another reason: The cereal box is an amiibo.
Nintendo and Kellogg’s announced that the limited-edition cereal will officially start hitting stores on Dec. 11. The breakfast food is a mixed berry-flavored cereal with “power-up marshmallows.” Cereal blog Cerealously uncovered the product earlier this week.
Here’s a look at the box:

Kellogg’s/Nintendo

According to a press release, the box’s amiibo features will let Super Mario Odyssey players “receive gold coins or a heart in the game.”
Nintendo previously (and famously) flirted with promotional cereals in the 1980s when it teamed up with Ralston Cereals to release the Nintendo Cereal System, a box stuffed with a pair of cereals based on Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda. The product was discontinued in 1989.
Update (Nov. 30): Nintendo and Kellogg’s officially confirmed Super Mario Cereal today. This post has been updated with new information and images.

[h=1]Super Mario Odyssey’s attention to detail goes much deeper than you think[/h]
[h=2]You’re never going to be able to unhear this...[/h]

Super Mario Odyssey is absolutely filled with delightful surprises and an attention to detail that goes far above and beyond what’s expected from a game in this series.
The above video from JalopesTL explains how the game’s sound effects and incidental music actually changes to harmonize with whatever song is playing in the background. The melody that plays when Mario zips along an electrical line actually changes depending on the other music that’s playing at the same time, and the game even adjusts the music’s tempo to make sure everything matches up so the music sounds as good as the game looks.
The video shows a few other places where the game adjusts the notes and music that is played based on your actions or the creature you’re controlling so that everything works together to create a soundscape that makes as much sense as the visuals.
It’s a small detail that required a ridiculous amount of work to get right, and it’s just one part of the game that helps make Super Mario Odyssey feel so satisfying to play. It’s unlikely that most people will ever notice this in the front of their brain, but it does change how things sound and feel.
If a game’s world seems like it’s in harmony with itself ... well, maybe it is?

Super Mario Odyssey’s first DLC adding Luigi balloon huntNew outfits and photo mode filters, tooSuper Mario Odyssey’s first add-on content is coming this February, with a free update that will add Mario’s brother Luigi and two new leaderboard-based online modes to the game, Nintendo announced today in a Nintendo Direct Mini presentation.Luigi still won’t be a playable character; instead, he’ll be the host of Luigi’s Balloon World, the name for a pair of connected modes in the update. In the Hide It mode, you’ll have 30 seconds to run somewhere in the game and hide away a balloon. In the Find It mode, you’ll get the same amount of time to run around the world and find balloons that other players have hidden. The more balloons you can discover, the higher you’ll move on the Balloon World leaderboards.“The key to setting high scores is knowing every nook and cranny of a kingdom’s terrain,” Nintendo said in the presentation. “It’s like a new form of objective-based speedrunning!” Luigi’s Balloon World will not be available until after you’ve completed the main story in Super Mario Odyssey.The February update will also bring three new costumes to the game: Sunshine Shades, Musician Hat and Knight Helmet, and their respective outfits. The last piece of the patch is a set of new filters for Super Mario Odyssey’s photo mode; the video featured two of them.For more on Super Mario Odyssey, you can check out 21 screenshots from the February update below, and read our review of the game.

[h=1]Nintendo respects its own strange past with new Super Mario Odyssey outfits[/h]

[h=2]Satellites and baseball teams from Nintendo’s history[/h]

Nintendo recently announced that Super Mario Odyssey for the Nintendo Switch will get two new outfits added to the in-game shop and, while one is pretty basic, the other requires a bit of an explanation.
The Baseball Uniform and Batting Helmet are the sort of general clothing options that already fill the game, although the color is likely a reference to Nintendo’s past majority ownership of the Seattle Mariners, but what the heck is the Satellaview Suit and Helmet?

The Satellaview was an add-on for the Super Nintendo that would allow players to download and play games and other content through a satellite connection. It was launched in Japan in 1995, and was never brought to any other markets. The service that delivered the content to players’ homes was only available for certain hours of the day, and sales of the hardware and subscriptions never took off.
It’s a strange piece of Nintendo’s history, even if aspects of the Satellaview hardware and service feel a bit ahead of their time. The outfit that Mario wears in this new content is meant to look like the space suit he wore in commercials for the Satellaview’s launch.

You can take a look at the hardware in the video below; it’s a fascinating piece of Nintendo’s history that’s rarely discussed away from communities of diehard collectors. Then again, many fans outside of Seattle probably don’t remember that Nintendo owned such a big chunk of a baseball team in the U.S. These outfits are a fun way to reference both pieces of Nintendo past.

Super Mario Odyssey has now sold a phenomenal 10 million copies.

Nintendo has sold an eye-opening 10.41m copies of Super Mario Odyssey since the game's launch last October. Odyssey is now Nintendo Switch's best-selling game - well over half the console's entire userbase now owns a copy.

As of 31st March this year, Nintendo has sold 17.79m Switch consoles - an impressive figure for a console just one year old.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe now stands at 9.22m sales, Zelda: Breath of the Wild at 8.48m sales, and Splatoon 2 on 6.02m. These figures include bundled copies and downloads.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Switch has already outsold the lifetime sales of Mario Kart 8 on Wii U (8.42m copies). Nintendo Switch eclipsed Wii U's lifetime console sales earlier this year. (Now discontinued, Nintendo's previous machine sold 13.5m units.)

[h=1]Zombie Mario comes to Super Mario Odyssey[/h]

[h=2]Sometimes dead is better[/h]

A grisly new costume is available in Super Mario Odyssey just in time for Halloween: Zombie Mario.
Nintendo released a free update for the Switch game this week, adding the Zombie Headwear and Zombie Outfit to Super Mario Odyssey’s Crazy Cap shops. The headgear and outfit cost 3,000 and 5,000 coins, respectively, and can only be unlocked after completing the main story.
Here’s a look at the full costume, as well as three new filters (Manga, Tile and Kaleidoscope) added to the game’s Snapshot mode:

Playing as undead Mario might seem like a strange, horrific addition to the game, but it’s arguably on par with Odyssey’s skeleton outfit that strips Mario entirely of his flesh. And the fact that you’re now throwing an ax at enemies certainly makes Mario seem much more violent, but players are already having fun with Mario’s new headwear.

[h=1]Super Mario Odyssey anniversary festival is an easy way to earn coins[/h]

[h=2]Head to New Donk City[/h]

Nintendo is celebrating the one-year anniversary of Super Mario Odyssey with a limited time in-game event: a scavenger hunt for pixel Luigi and Captain Toad. The hunt itself is simple; players just need to ground pound the area around the New Donk City festival to uncover 39 pixel Luigis and Captain Toads.
The upside is that the anniversary event is a very easy way to earn 7,800 coins — almost enough to cover the cost of that game’s new Zombie Mario costume. Each 8-bit Luigi and Toad is worth 200 coins, and they’re all extremely easy to find. Just head to the Metro Kingdom, warp to New Donk City Hall Plaza and run through the Donkey Kong-inspired section.
The festival area itself is flush with Luigi and Captain Toads. See?

NintendoNintendo is also celebrating Super Mario Odyssey’s first birthday in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. Players will receive a free Cappy hat in-game.

[h=1]Super Mario Odyssey adds a great retro Mario costume[/h]

[h=2]8-bit Mario joins Santa Mario in Crazy Cap stores[/h]

Nintendo rolled out two new costumes for Super Mario Odyssey this week, letting players dress Mario up like Santa Claus or give him a throwback, 8-bit style, similar to the 30th anniversary Mario amiibo released a few years ago.
While the Santa Mario is certainly timely and perfectly fine, it’s the 8-bit Mario that’s the star of the show here. The pixelated Mario is amusing for the fact that it has virtually no animation. He just stays fixed in his classic jumping pose, lightly waddling and jumping through levels locked into position.
The 8-bit Mario cap — described in-game as “A hat that takes you back to where it all began” — can be purchased for 9,999 coins. Yes, it’s a hefty price to pay, but the goof feels worth it. Mario’s Santa hat and outfit are much more reasonably priced: 500 coins and 1,000 coins, respectively.
Here’s a look at both costumes, from Nintendo of America’s Twitter account:

[h=1]The Art of Super Mario Odyssey comes stateside in October[/h]

[h=2]The 368-page art book will include early art, developer insights, and unused concepts[/h]

Super Mario Odyssey is a big, beautiful game, and the artwork that fueled its creation was collected in a book last year titled The Art of Super Mario Odyssey. That art book was published in Japan this past September, and later this year, publisher Dark Horse will bring a localized edition of the book to North America.
Dark Horse’s release of The Art of Super Mario Odyssey will be a 368-page hardcover book full of “concept art, preliminary sketches, and notes from the development team, plus insight into some early ideas that didn’t make it into the game itself,” according to a release from the publisher. The art book will also contain screenshots and marketing materials from Super Mario Odyssey.
Since the book has been out in Japan for a while now, there shouldn’t be too many new surprises. Reports from the Japanese edition have already revealed some fascinating early looks at Cappy, New Donk City, and plenty of unused Mario costumes. The book even featured the first official Nintendo drawing of “Bowsette.”
The Art of Super Mario Odyssey will go on sale Oct. 22, and will be available for pre-order at retailers like Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and TFAW with a list price of $49.99. Here’s a peek at the North American book cover:
