I am looking to buy a new dual sim android mobile with at least lollipop in 6000-8000 Rs. range. Can you guys suggest me some models with normal battery timing without buggy software and stable operation. It should have quad core with 1 GB RAM for smooth user experience and no hang up or lag when switching apps. Camera quality is not a priority but it would be nice if it get frequent OTA security updates like Samsung phones. I know you can only get Q or other local brands in this range but there are so many models in this price range it is difficult to pick which one is better.

You can't get a great phone in this price. A 1st gen Moto X with a custom ROM will probably suffice.

These phones have good specs but they are old/refurbished models and they have no local warranty or aftersales service.

How is QMobile Noir A1 Android One? It has Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is currently selling under 7000 Rs.

Ultimately it's your choice, a first gen moto x still wipes the floor with any of the available sets in this price range especially rooted

The only good Android One device worth buying is the General Mobile 4G. And that's 12.5k on discount.

The A1 was a piece of shit. I think Baghi had one.

No used phone will obviously give you good after sales service, but you can't get any decent phones for 6-8k.

I think Baghi also had a 1st Gen Moto X if I remember correctly. He can share his experience with both devices and then you can decide.

Moto X was launched in 2013 with Jelly Bean. It is now 2016 so its battery charge retention performance will not be that good given the age of device.

It was not very good at the price I had mine, but it is certainly a decent device for what it is worth right now. Though it is worth mentioning that the QMobile now has managed to load some qShit in it in the form of some ringtones and stuff which makes this device somewhat not-so-Googlish.

And yes, the X was one of the best device I owned. I saw one with US Cellular branding in the market which is I think also unlockable if OP is into that.

You mean it now has QApps preloaded, right. Baghi, can you tell me it is still getting OTA updates on Marshmallow. Moto X has good specs but there is one recent development which concerns me that is PTA to Devise System To Block Illegal, Smuggled and Stolen Phones. It mean to be on safe side one have to buy only PTA approved mobiles.

In simpler words, PTA will maintain a list of allowed IMEIs (imported legally, PTA approved IMEIs, IMEIs paired with CNICs etc.) to be allowed to register with local networks. All other IMEIs, called blacklisted phones/tablets will not be able to get registered with cellular networks.

Not exactly QApps, but some QMobile signature ringtones are definitely there. And yes, it is guaranteed to get updates for next two years after release, suffice it to say that it WILL be updated to the next iteration of Android dubed as "N". You can read my thoughts regarding this phone here.

That said, I have absolutely no idea about the other thing you asked so I cannot comment on that.

Thanks for your reply. The part you did not understand is that PTA is going to block smuggled American, Korean, Chinese phones at network level, they are working on a system to do so.

Doubtful they will actually get around to doing it any time soon. They're PTA, not exactly the worlds record holders on being punctual with things.

You can go out and buy one with no worries.
Just know, that you simply can't get a good phone in 6-8k. The A1 has Marshmallow, but it's complete and utter crap.

Your welcome. I did understand what you say, but I do not follow therefore I am not the right person to ask this question.
