Sony PlayStation 5 : Play Has No Limits

PS5 Release Date, PS5 Games, PS5 Power vs Xbox One X, PS5 Price Speculation - All the PS5 Info lets discuss

Here are all the rumors and speculation surrounding the PS5, including a potential PS5 release date, power, and launch games of Sony's inevitable PS5. Is the PS5 releasing in 2019?

What we Want From the PS5 Speculation aside, what would we ideally want from the PS5? Backwards compatibility for PS4 games would be brilliant, simply because you'd be able to carry over classics like the Shadow of the Colossus remake to the next console generation. We've seen how well Microsoft is handling backwards compatibility with its Xbox One consoles (including getting amazing results updating Xbox 360 games to run in 4K on Xbox One X), and something similar on PS5 would be great.

In terms of pure power, the PlayStation 5 has to significantly exceed the power of the Xbox One X. This means featuring more games running in 4K at 60FPS. If the PS5 can deliver about 10 TF of power we'd be happy, as this would allow devs to create games that look a generation ahead of what we've got now.

But what would the dream launch lineup be for the PS5? Death Stranding and The Last of Us: Part 2 are hugely anticipated blockbuster games, with the former especially looking to push the performance of whatever system it's on to the very limit. We've also mentioned Ghost of Tsushima and a sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn, and the latter would be the perfect way to kick off a new console cycle from Sony.

Hot damn , R&C transition between worlds are much smoother and seamless now than they were in the first reveal where there was an obvious judder portal-ing between dimensions.
Kya faida... RTX 3060 to phir bhi essential hai

As a VR proponent, you should be happy that one of the big 3 console makers is focusing on VR :p
PSVR sucks tho 🤷‍♂️

Even PSVR proponents have sold it :ROFLMAO:

Get your AAA studios to make AAA VR games and then it might be worth considering.

PS5 major exclusives should be VR compatible even if Sony doesn't make big shot exclusive VR games like Uncharted etc (although that would be preferable too). Did VR interest me on PS4 without such exclusives? No. Would I have gotten VR if there was say, God of War VR on PS4? Absolutely.

lol if your criteria for "X VR headset sucks" is ownersip, the PSVR is the most successful one to date.

Even PSVR proponents have sold it :ROFLMAO:
Because there's going to be a new one in a year or so. I'll sell my PS4 soon too. Which way are you going to spin that? :ROFLMAO:

My criteria is lack of universally acclaimed AAA games by AAA studios. Heck, there isn't even one 🤷‍♂️

Here's how: You still have your PS4 and it will have a successor this year. You've already sold your PSVR a new PSVR is not even getting an announcement until Fall 2021, that too if its lovers are lucky iirc :ROFLMAO:

What's your criteria for a AAA 3D platformer? Some examples would be nice.

Something like PSVR is tougher to sell in Pakistan. I sold it the first opportunity I got, as there weren't any major titles planned for release from that point on. Besides, even if there are some, they'll be backward compatible with PSVR2. I can wait until then.

A studio known for making AAA games (or even a new studio) making a full priced ($60) game on a modest budget by today's standards. This doesn't happen and 3D platformers are a dying genre and rarely get the AAA treatment now. But you'll still find plenty of indie, kick starter or AA games falling into that genre. Upcoming Ratchet and Clank would fit my criteria for a "AAA 3D platformer". But that's not a VR game.

VR games aren't often priced the same as standard releases. Half-Life: Alyx wasn't sold for a full $60 at launch either.

Your Ratchet and Clank example is flawed, because it's not purely a platformer and more of an action game. Mario Odyssey is a AAA platformer, and thus by extension, so is Astro Bot.

Wrong. Regional pricing doesn't negate that it was a full priced game.
Half-Life: Alyx is a fully-priced PC game at $59.99, though if you pre-order you can get it for 10% off, bringing the price down to $53.99.

Wrong again. Even Super Mario Odyssey isn't a platformer either then lol

Besides, ASOBI Team has never developed a AAA game.

Wasn't talking about regional pricing. There was a 10% discount on preorders. One could've got the game for less than $60 at launch.

It's listed as a platformer first, while Ratchet is primarily listed as an action game. There's your difference.

ASOBI Team has developed a AAA game i.e. Astro Bot, because of Mario Odyssey is categorized as a AAA game, there's no reason why Astro Bot shouldn't also.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
