[SOLVED]does intelgd31 pr support 800mhz ram or not ????

salaam all
I have one corsair 2gb module @667 working perfectly but today I bought kingston 2gb 800mhz for 2600 and my mobo didnt even show display with it whats the problem was the module faulty ? already got it paid back as there was no other to be replaced with will I have to stick to 2gb or try my luck with 667mhz one ? and one thing more I even created the thread for ram and bought one 2gb kingston stick it didnot work wither so are all kingstons not going to work ?

yeah it support 800 mhz bus speed. if a motherboard does not support 800mhz it will run 800mhz rams on 667mhz or on 533 mhz. i think you got the faulty rams or may be there is something wrong with installment. install the ram again after cleaning the slots and only install this ram in the socket and remove the other rams. try this and reply back

brother did everything you have mentioned have two ram slots my corsair module works in either but that kingston module does not work is there any thing like voltage etc that may be causing the trouble ?

Use Default BIOS setting...may be it work....
my 41RQ used to show E8200 as 2.2 instead of 2.66...but Bios reset done the job..

Did you try the kingston module on its own? Does the system boot up with just the kingston module installed? If it doesn't boot up then the module is likely faulty.

edit: Be sure to try it out in each of the memory slots as well.

Verify your all ram modules one by one with your working ram and did you update your mobo bios?

mods please close the thread reason returned it back for cash
things I tried and didnot work
tried this module alone in both of memory slots one after the pther
reset bios to default
removed battery cell for 5 minutes and then reinstalled
reflashed bios (was already at latest version but still I tried )
removed all my sata drives and GFX card
removed the only fan on motherboard (chipset fan)
Things I could not do
check that module on any other PC because had limited time of 24 hrs for returning in case of incompatibility
