SINNER: Sacrifice for Redemption a Chinese-made Dark Souls

Following the reveal of some
gameplay footage this past weekend, developer Dark Star Game Studios has officially announced that boss battler action-RPG Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC/Mac in Q1 2018.

Here’s the description for Sinner, which sees Adam facing off against eight bosses, seven of which are based on the deadly sins:

Adam, a fallen soldier on a quest to save his soul, will face eight abhorrent bosses, the first seven each based on one of the deadly sins. Before each clash, Adam must make a sacrifice to enter combat and choose a stat to level down. Each fight will be tougher than the last and force players to carefully choose their actions in battle, aided by a variety of unlockable weapons.
The action is framed by a desolate afterlife in which Adam seeks to restore his memories and atone for his sins. How he interacts with each boss will ultimately decide his fate in one of multiple endings.

Director Iain Garner added, “Sinner is not another game where the player grows stronger to fight the final boss on equal footing. Adam will struggle with his physical prowess as well as his internal need for atonement, and his ultimate test will be his most challenging.”

Sinner will be available in English, Spanish, German, Japanese, Russian, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.

The team at Dark Star is made up of a former Ubisoft Art Director, a Blizzard Technical Artist, and a Konami Senior Programmer. Their aim is to “make AAA quality games for a hardcore crowd.”

I was fine with this till I saw the motherfucker cast Sunlight Blade on his sword using a Talisman looking item and then cast Sunlight Spear at a boss. All with the same animation as Dark Souls.

China really doesn't give a fuck. My opinion is still like whatever. They're doing a bunch of their own stuff. Looks kind of goofy, yet they're trying to play it straight. Really reminds me of those PlayStation Store/XBOX Marketplace only games that used to come out around the early 2010s.
