I have a WD cavier(7200 RPM with 16mb cache) at the moment.I am planning to buy the above mentioned hd,just wanted to ask if this seagate hd is better than the one i have, and which one should i set as my primary hd?
If you have had read the review PROPERLY, you wont have asked this question.
Dont plan. JUST BUY IT. I consider this HDD to be best in every aspect, even boot drive. Dont forget the price while talking about its performance.
You should use the Seagate as your boot drive as it'll be faster than your current HDD.
I want to ask what is better the WD Caviar black 1 tb or the 2TB Seagate drive ??please tell me asap as Iam looking forward to buying a new harddrive !!!
As compared to Seagate 14th Gen:
- Caviar Black is literally TWICE as expensive
- Gives you 100% LESS storage capacity.
I dont see any reason why you should even consider the black drive anymore. Even if you are concerned with "performance", these drives in RAID configuration will leave the Black drive in dust anyway, while still be
CONSIDERABLY cheaper.
The advantages of Black drive:
- Better throughput
- Lesser access times
I dont think these are worth the DOUBLE amount you'll pay for Black drive.
it depends actually...if ur priority is space then go for this but if ur priority is performance first then Black is for u.
Actually ... not anymore. (Refer to the RAID example above)
i was in critical need of some hdd that could take all of my 360 isos and 3D movies so i bought this atm.although i m planning on getting either a 1TB black or some cheap SSD for my OS needs.
Well i was mistaken that this HDD will be only good for data storage, but it seems that its real world performance is surprisingly Stunning, in Windows 8 (optimizations of Win8, is a HUGE factor here. Win7 Murders your HDD, with continuous non stop workings.)
Congratulations on your Purchase btw
Also, i hate to ask this from every individual who buys this drive, but please bear with me on this and answer the following questions
- HDD Model Number
- Firmware Number (Written on HDD)
- Part Number (written on HDD)
- Also check the Date of Manufacture (Mention the DateCode written on the HDD)
