Well he's not all wrong. Basically, LAZY GAMES AND ENTERTAINMENT (most indoor sports and stuff you do just sitting there) activities are indeed disliked in Islam. So technically, Chess isn't really cool, but there's so much that comes before. That is lying, corruption, deception, music, movies (almost all nowadays), immorality, having un-approved relationships with non-mahram girls, skimpy clothing, disobeying parents, smoking, the seven sins (as highlighted in Christianity)... it's such a long damn list, there's so much to do. And yes, once we've done it all, we can also stop chess. So he's not quite wrong, but there are a lot of things before Chess. Most Arabs should also take a look into relationships and what goes on in their homes in general. I've lived half my life in Saudi Arabia and I'm in the UAE now, and we're all aware of what goes on here. The way I see it, We, MYSELF INCLUDED, are so much on the Haraam track... Chess comes later.

May Allah Subhanhu Wa Ta'aalah Forgive us and Guide us better. We so much need it. I think I need it even more.

Hmmm well if he said that, that says about their multiple, hyper-threaded, 12-core STANDARDS in decrees. Double standards are old stuff now. Needless to add, with these Saudis having invested almost half a a trillion dollars' worth in the US Economy, they have so much to loose if they pull their plugs on US/Israeli support. So they pass on these decrees which make the most sense to them rather than the rest of the Muslim world.

Wouldn't it be easier at this point to just tell us what isn't haram?
Well it wouldn't be. It's tricky. At least we've heard that our dearest Prophet Hazrat Mohammed Salla Allahu Alayehi Wa Alyhi Wassallam didn't like these activities. So ideally we should not involved with them. But again the point is he disliked other things even more, and if we're doing those, then there are bigger issues at hand.

Here's what I think we should do. We should ignore these fools. The whole lots of them. They calling this or that Haraam? Just move along. We're intelligent enough to know what's right and what's wrong. Plus if the Jews or Zionists or the lots of them say a certain something, UN KA KEHNAY SAY NABI YA MAKKAH YA ALLAH KHATAM NAHIN HOGA. Allah Almighty knows how to take care of His Book, His Prophet(s) and His Souvenirs on THIS planet, and the others. What we can do is, DIL SE BURA JANAIN agar us ka sar qalm nahin kar saktay. It's the weakest level of Imaan, but it's still a level. Yes, once you don't hate them in your HEART even, and you say NO, IT'S OKAY. DRINKING IS OK. OH IT'S JUST A DRINK. I AIN'T HURTIN NOBODY. I THINK IT'S HALAL THAT WAY. CHILLIN & DOPIN IS OK. SNOOP DOGG IS COOL. I WANNA BE LIKE HIM. GAGA DRESSES FINE. IT'S WHAT'S COOL THESEDAYS, you need to rethink.

So since Jews are in the system (just for example, all Intel processors are engineered in their lab in Haifa), and you're friend or family member wants to have a Coke anyhow, even if you don't quite approve, at least in our hearts we should know what's right and what's wrong. So yes, if we're falling into their culture's abyss, it's not cool. Trade is one thing. ACCEPTING their culture as the right thing and not having a problem with it is not cool. We're restrained also, in a way. You want a good quality product? It's only gonna come from a Multinational Corporation. Examples? Nestle, Unilever, ExxonMobil and General Mills. Most of the corporations hail from the first freemasonic states: The US of A.

It's our test. In most things these-days we don't have much of a choice. It's how much we can refrain and how closely we follow Islam. Allah can Hah... says a guy who's so much into music *laughing at self*.

Maybe it's because, for example, caricatures and photography isn't cool. Why? Because, it led certain civilizations to idol-worship. Likewise, chess could, in the same manner, lead to competition and gambling. Besides, at that time, I don't think Muslims had the time for Competitive Sports or World Cups or Car Rallies or Synchronized Diving. They were fighting ACTUAL WARS against the foes of Islam rather than competing for a 6 kilo of gold trophies.

Anyways, long story short, ignore these fools. We know what to do, and we don't need FATWAS to guide us.
Sorry for the long speech. Was just trying to make a point. Sorry if you find it too boring.

Of course.

Frankly, I'm surprised anyone even listens to what some random mufti (especially one that draws out asinine conclusions like this) has to say. Interpreters made sense in olden times when illiteracy was rampant and not everyone could read or evaluate text on their own. In this day age, anyone that has to rely on fifth wheels is failing at being a rational functioning adult. And if you truly believe your faith will get corrupted by anything as simple as this, was there ever any hope for you to start with?

I meant my post in jest but I truly think these muftis will condemn just about everything until nothing is left. Sadly, some people will actually take them seriously.

tl;dr: Ignorance is bliss.

fake news. Saudi scholars say that muslims don't poses enough tech to confront israel. When muslims dont poses the means to overcome the injustice then scholars' use the term no jihad or jihad is not obligatory. Saying that doing Jihad is haram is insane. Even a muslim with little knowledge would know that its just false propaganda.
Recently the Saudi Grand Mufti said that isis is part of israel army, that says it all.

- - - Updated - - -

Scholars often condemn terrorism and killing of innocents yet the media only tries to spread what can be termed as spicy news fro public... and people start debates... alas

Lol, seriously? There isn't a single legitimate hadith confirming this because CHESS is so not haram [emoji58] gimme a break! Nowadays, even ahadees have been plagiarised by these mullahs, but then again, one should use his/her head if something could've been said by our beloved Prophet or not.

And if frickin chess is haram then effin video gaming is haram too. So is the internet bahahaha

Slowly, you're gonna label everything as *HARAM*? I don't think so.

Haha my point exactly, bro. Molvion ka bas na Chalay toh saans lena b haram hojaye -_- it's like the saying goes *deen main daari hai, daari main deen nahi*. But a molvi would be like *daari nahi iski, ye kafir hai* lol

You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
