i think they will show only teaser about next gen hardware this year and consoles will be released in 2014 mid or in the end of 2014 ... because current generation has lot of potential and we enjoying games on current generation ..

Tickets for E3 this year are $795..so yeah it better damn well be worth it. Two console announcements and a re-unveiling of an already announced console might make up for the insane price.
I expect a PS4 reveal in 2013 or 2014.
Why do people keep assuming that the new console won't come out till 2016. It's ridiculous. Sony has on average released their new console 7 years after the last one. PS2 games still kept coming out for a years after the ps3 launch. All they mean is that the ps3 products will be supported and under production till 2016 at the very least. It doesn't mean we won't release another console till then.
Though i do wonder even if MS plans to reveal the new console this year. What exclusives will they showcase to give people a reason to buy. The Xbox exclusive library is non-existent at this point. Both companies haven't even saturated motion control which was launched very recently. I wonder if it's a good business decision to switch consoles. If they do will the same move and kinect controllers be compatible with the new consoles. I bought the move on launch but i really don't see myself spending money for an upgrade it's a useless product.
If the companies do launch their new consoles soon they will be sacrificing the motion tech on consoles. The smarter business decision is to let them currently stabilize and attain a decent market share before shaking things up.
On a pure business unit level analysis, MS can't push a console without exclusives to market it. Sony needs to establish it's 3D and Motiontech before pulling the switch.

plus the fact that we have a few games already announced with 2013 release date on xbox360 and ps3.but i think that MS will reveal their console earlier then Sony.

well it could be that MS again might unveil their console before sony as in ps3 is their 3rd console in the market where as MS tried to fool the ppl by naming the console xbox 360 instead of xbox 2 
so yeah theres still that gap between playstation and xbox...
other than that i think wii-U is the one im more looking towards at this years e3...

I dunno bout' you guys but I'm really interested in the Wii-U provided that it has good 3rd party support.
The possibilities are endless. Seeing how games are getting more and more repetitive, I'd choose proper innovation over shiny graphics any day. No, this does not include Kinect 2.0.

I will be highly surprised if MS does not reveal anything about their next console .. They usually want to be the opportunist, so I'm pretty sure we'll be hearing from them regarding this .. And I think they will give the approximate release date, if not the price, etc ...
For Sony, I can't really say .. As far as my experience goes, lately they've usually been very unpredictable when it comes to E3 .. Although my hunch feeling is that they might not say anything on the topic, and just claim some BS that PS3 is still powerful enough to handle new titles, etc ...
But in any case, Sony would have to go off their so-called 10 year plan, because frankly PS3 and the Cell processor dont have all the juice that was promised to us when the PS3 was released ..

I definitely expect Sony to go all out with specs again. Sony is a trend setter in console gaming, and I can see them pushing full 3D support, and a powerful bluray drive - speculations were there before- for even more data storage. I am also interested in Nintendo. They have the most first party games and devs. I expect them to head down a decent path as well. If 3DS is any indication of their tech savvy, it will be good.

My expectation M$ and Sony will reveal next gen consoles in E3 2012. Most of the game developers reached to the limit of current gen consoles which cant handle many stuff e.g BF3 in mulitplayer you can play with 64 players in PC and in consoles only 24 players there are more factors to be explained. So revealing next gen consoles is a must in E3 2012 but release it in 2013.
Exactly as I had predicted .. I guess Sony has forgotten how to excite/surprise their audience ... :wink2:
