To say that playing Returnal with a mouse is transformative would be an understatement. Anyone who prefers mouse aim in shooters will immediately know how much more precise it can be.

That's not a revelation; it obviously goes for most games – even those designed primarily for controllers.

It's only really when I played the PC version at upwards of 90fps and using my preferred control method that it really illustrated just how much better Returnal plays with a mouse.

To the point that it almost feels like a transplanted PC game on a console.

I'm Making A Mockery Of Returnal's Combat On Mouse And Keyboard

Mouse and Keyboard controls make Returnal a lot easier on PC.

But my second playthrough on PC is a totally different story. The precision of mouse and keyboard controls transformed Returnal from a desperate fight for survival into a high-energy slaughterfest. I cleanly took down Phrike, then cleared Ixiom and Nemesis, all in one go.

This is basically the third person equivalent of Doom where mouse+keyboard controls are not only superior, but transformative to the experience.

I used to take k/m for granted in shooting games, unless recently I had to play ghostrunner via a controller. Man I should use the word "suffering" instead of playing shooting games thuru a controller

Agreed. Trying to aim with a controller is frustrating indeed.

Sony/XBOX should introduce keyboard/mouse for games similar to PC.

Meanwhile, I have ordered these for my PS3/PS5 controllers. I will leave a review here if these really help.

Pro gamers on Reddit and other forums recommend a shorter grip (6mm) for the left analog stick, and
a higher grip (13 mm) for the right analog stick for FPS games. The combination they say will improve movement and aim precision for shoot'em up games.

Yep...one of the most frustrating thing about gaming on consoles is one gamepad for all genres, which also happens to be inadequate for the most popular ones.

Holy hell it looks horrible next to the PC version! Was this even 1080p on PS5? The PC version upscaled from 900p even looks better then the supposed 1080p image on PS5
