in my opinion go for others card with newer direct x & shader support . but it depends upon you budget and use of GPU so cheers .

secondly WAYYYYYYYYYY better than or let say it has the combine power to gt8600 & gt 9500 n believe me i am not exaggerating .
IF YOU HAVE A fixed BUDGET of 4 k then go for a used 9600gt it is better than both the previous card .

Pro: Intel i3 2100; 10500pkr
Mobo: Asus H61-M LE or MSI H61M-P21; 6700pkr
GPU: ATI 6970; 14500pkr
RAM: Kingston 4GB DDR3; 2200pkr
HDD: Please don't buy it now as the prices are way high.... or if u want go for a SeaGate 1TB; 8200pkr
PSU: ANTEC EA650D; 6500pkr
Chassis: Get anyone from here http://czone.com.pk/html/products_new.htm which u think is the best, I say go for a CM Elite 430 without PSU as u will buy it separately; 3.5-5k

Another thing. I'm looking at the possibility of upgrading my graphics card. But most of the cards I'm looking at have DDR3 memory. Can I use those? Is it possible that even though my processor accepts only DDR2 800 Mhz DIMMS, I can use a graphics card which has DDR3 memory?

Yes, you should be fine.

It's not your processor which accepts DDR2 RAMs, it's your motherboard.
And you can even install a GDDR5 graphic card in your system.

An year ago, I came here for help. I was looking to buy a PC for my son who solely wanted to play Sims 2 and that in great quality, graphics and all that jazz. However, we ended up buying a gaming console. :looking:

But now, he wants a PC again but this time, he wants it to play Sims 3. What is this game?! Anyways, he's still demanding a PC with top notch graphics and all the fancy stuff. I don't know how high to set my budget so I need help. Can you guys suggest me PC set-ups for playing Sims 3 at high quality and top notch graphics? I don't need anything to play high-end pc games, just keep Sims 3 and it's minimum specs in mind. He wants to play without any lag and with really great graphics. Help? And oh, I plan to buy the parts and a friend will be assembling everything. I heard it's better this way.

^ These are the minimum system requirements... So you can buy something slightly better in specs so it can have a breathing space. And if you want great graphics, you'll have to buy a good graphics card too.
