but but but but as per the definition any frame time spike over 33.3ms in a game targetting 16.67ms is a stutter. And that definition fails here 🤷‍♂️

We saw CerebralTiger explain that when it came to Elden Ring's stutter issues on all platforms. Not to mention, those were "mitigated by VRR" apparently.

So what has changed now? Oh, that's right. Crapcom fucked up the version CerebralTiger had assumed would be the "best" and he has no other option but to play the pre-ordered worst version of this game.

That's what happened. Yikes yikes yikes 🤷‍♂️:ROFLMAO:

Simple explanation. Those spikes to 33.33ms were due to GPU load, and, therefore, didn't manifest as stutter 🤷‍♂️ :LOL:

Even if you exclude the stutter CiTy PC version, PS5 delivers a higher average frame rate/frame time compared to the Series X 🤷‍♂️:LOL:

Doesn't matter where your so-called "bottleneck" is. All about dem frame times.

DF tried to make it simpler for you....

It just takes care of visual judder below 48fps, which the PS5 version doesn't. But the PS5 version doesn't drop that low as often as Series X either in Performance mode w/ RT On. Also, frame times would still be more consistent on PS5, regardless. Hopefully, VG Tech also does a comparison to demonstrate this.

PC version is obviously buggy with a lot of crashes,
but Xbawks has the worst performance of the three.

Experts are saying PS5 performs better than Xbawks in RT and Resolution mode.

Look at the video! Even an Xbawks fanboy accepts that devs are not optimizing games as much for Xbawks as they are for PS5 console.



Another Xbawks fan says PS5 version performs better than Xbawks in RT and Resolution mode. Moreover, control on Xbawks is the worst.

But the exact same frame times spikes here, aren't a stutter.



And on PS5/XSX, they happen during aiming and while you're engaged in combat.

Yes, they aren't, as the game isn't actually stalling due to an external bottlebeck (as seen on PC due to loading/streaming), and they are mitigated by VRR 🤷‍♂️

The reason it dips straight to 33.33ms is because V-sync is engaged at all times in the console versions. It's either 16.67ms, 33.33ms, or higher increments by 16.67ms.

That's some terrible comprehension going on there. He never said vsync is only active when VRR is inactive. He means that outside of the VRR range, your display will behave like a "normal" vsync display without VRR. Maybe you needed "inverted commas" to drive the point home? 😬 :ROFLMAO:

You know the demo is great when you feel nausea after playing it. Btw, not the most optimised game for steam deck ATM, yet it still somehow manages to thrash the next gen console versions in input latency lol. Looking forward for the full release and hopefully proper optimisations for the handheld.
Funny story, this steamdeck version is running with the AMDs special AO technique. Which is missing in "next gen" consoles as they are using old Ass SSAO. That truly is hilarious. Even through the crappy phone camera phone you can tell the difference in how realistically it's shading the rocks on the walls. A handheld under no circumstances, should LOOK better at a certain graphical technique than the frickin next gen consoles. That is just absurd @Necrokiller

Reprodooooocible DF certified "only minor and noticeable if you play at 120fps" preferable to random gameplay disruptive stutters on consoles 🤷‍♂️😂
