A slightly more "open" level design feels nice. Rest of the gameplay loop is much the same.

But....combat somehow feels worse. Didn't notice dismemberment. Enemies still unnecessarily bullet sponges. Dodge mechanic feels completely random. More aggressive nature of Nemesis makes our movement feel clunkier.

^ Someone at Capcom probably took the RE2 criticism of them both running the same resolution to heart it seems.

Though performance SHOULD have scaled linearly according to specs. Not sure what happened here.

Capcom have been previewing the PS4 Pro version in all Japanese events, so safe to say that version is the one with their most focus.

[h=1]Resident Evil Resistance open beta delayed on PS4 and PC due to ‘technical issues’[/h]

The Xbox One version is still on schedule

The open beta for Resident Evil Resistance, the new asymmetrical multiplayer spin-off of theResident Evil series, has been delayed on PlayStation 4 and Windows PC. The Resistancebeta was supposed to begin on all platforms starting early in the morning on Friday, March 27. Instead, only the Xbox One version of the beta is currently live. According to an announcement on the game’s website, the delay is due to “technical issues.”
Capcom hasn’t announced when the other platforms will get the chance to try the game out, but according to its website, the company is “working to resolve the issues as quickly as possible and will keep you updated on its availability.”

Resistance is a four-on-one multiplayer mode. Four players take on the role of survivors who have to escape. The other player is the Mastermind, and its their job to stop them through whatever devious and torturous means necessary. While the survivors play the game in the style of last year’s Resident Evil 2 remake, the Mastermind plays through a computer terminal where they can use security cameras and a map to lay down traps or spawn enemies for the survivors to fight. The Mastermind can even take direct control of certain enemies.
The Xbox One version of the Resident Evil Resistance beta is scheduled to last until 3 a.m. EDT on Friday, April 3. As for the other betas, whenever they go live, they’re likely to last about a week as well.

So played the RE RESISTANCE beta and its a bit different than how i imagined. its an RTS kinda gameplay with mastermind and 4 survivors and u gotta escape from the live traps mastermind is putting out and or if you are the mastermind vice versa... its a bit like dead by daylight kinda but with RTS kind of gameplay

(y)

The final 2 bosses were a Abuses will lead to ban. I really want to platinum the game before FF7 comes out but holy shit there are 2 more HIGHER difficulty based trophies and 1 for getting S rank (under 2 hrs) on the INFERNO difficulty (which is basically 1 hit kill) :'(

And done.

A brief review.

- Fantastic game, but anyone who knows me knows how big of a RE nut I am, so you know .. this was expected :p
- That being said, just like RE3 back in '99, this game isn't as good as RE2 the year before it.
- Nemesis is set up fantastically in the opening as a relentless pursuer, however after around half way in the game his role and appearances change dramatically .. for the worse.
- The campaign is as big as 1 of the 2 RE2 scenarios and the overall package feels small because of that
- They kept saying how Brad's role will be expanded .. but he's just there for like 2 minutes.
- New Carlos is a fantastic upgrade over old dopey-Carlos.
- Similarly, new Nicholai is an improvement over old Nicholai too.
- The final 2 boss fights are a biiiiiiiiiitch on the highest difficulties.
- Even though it's the same engine and just 1 year apart, the facial capture and animations are a huge improvement over RE2

How's the overall tone of this game? Better than last year RE 2 or the same?

I am hesitant to shell out 80 bucks for this game after reading the reviews.

In just about every facet this is not as good as RE2. I got this day 1 because I had a bunch of store credit available, but unless you really want to jump into the RE Resistance mode, I'd say wait a bit for it to become cheaper (even Dex'ed if you have a capable PC). The campaign is short and while it has good replay for the challenges, it's still shorter than RE2 as a package.

Will probably wait for a cracked copy then. Although there is an Easter sale happening and might check it out then.

- Would you say facial animation is the best you've seen ?

Alan wake 2 is yet to recover it's development costs. Due to no physical release and no steam launch.
You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
