A couple of days ago my pc started giving me some random BSODs in no order. I dont know whats wrong as i haven't installed any new software recently and made no hardware changes.

But i do know that its a hardware related BSOD, as i go the dump file analyzed at the windows 7 forums.

The people there asked me to do some tests for my memory, which i did, and they are fine, so thats not the problem.

So what other hardware can cause a BSOD?

Please help

remove ur rams, clean their slots with a brush properly, reinstall them and then run memtest.
also replace ur hard disk cables and also the port to wich the HDD is connected in the mobo.

1. Have you overclocked the proc or RAMs? If yes, revert back to stock clocks and volts and check.
2. Check your RAMs. Do what Newton said. Also if youre using 2 sticks, remove 1 and check. Then check with the other installed.
3. Check if Sata cables are attached properly on both ends.
4. Check temperatures.

If you can find a pattern to the BSODs, that helps. For example if it happens after a certain period of time, or if it happens when you start some processor-intensive task.

I have already cleaned and checked my RAMS, they are fine. I ran memtest, let it go on and completed 8 passes successfully without any errors.

I haven't overclocked anything on my pc, everything is on default settings.

Also i got the dump files analyzed and the guys at the seven forums are saying that its a 0x124 error i.e related to a hardware issue.

Temperatures are fine i think, check this

I haven't checked the sata cables, i'll do that and then see if it helps

ok guys, wanted to bump this topic and say that i think i have found the culprit hardware.

its the processor

I searched around a bit on the seven forums, and saw some people suggesting Prime95 as a CPU stress test. Well i downloaded that, and after 10 seconds of testing my system crashed with the same error.

I rebooted, ran the test again, and the pc crashed once more with the same error.

So does this mean that i have to replace my CPU? :(

or is there anything else i can do, without spending too much cash?

Check your processor temps under load. What were the temps right before the BSOD during prime95 run? Also check with OCCT's stress test to see if the same happens or not.

A link for that please?

EDIT:

Found it downloaded and ran a test.

First Run: Test ran for 10 seconds, Pc crashed no BSOD

Rebooted, Second Run: Ran for 6 seconds, got the same hardware BDOD and system crashed

I also did a GPU test with OCCT just to make sure that its fine, and well my temperature went to 65'C after 20mins, so i closed it. But i guess the GPU is fine.

About the Temperatures, they were perfectly normal, according to speedfan, both the cores were at 45'C when the system crashed.

how long have u been running the system OK?
are you sure that somebody didn't change anything from the BIOS? i would recommend to reset all of its values to defaults and check them individually particularly the over-clocking ones.

I've been using the system for the past 2.5 years without a problem, nothing has been changed in the BIOS as i am the only person using it.

I also flashed my BIOS to the latest version just now, it didn't solve anything.

Did a windows reinstall, still the same thing

Did you check or preferably replace your Sata cables? Keep the Sata cables as straight as possible.

Its obviously a hardware problem since windows reinstallation rules out any software issues. Check the system with another power supply. Since youre getting a CPU error on the tests, check using another processor if possible.

hm... didn't replace them, i'll try that now, that might work.

It will be kinda hard to get a PSU. What if i run the PSU test on OCCT? is that safe?

BTW, i started Ghost of Tsushima, and it got me hooked within the first couple of minutes. I already know It's gonna be a memorable experience. This is how you make a proper Samurai game. Not that SJW game Ubisoft is making.

That's still higher than it's total play length. A 5 hour campaign for a $50 game is downright scammy.

Consoles were my main platform ever since Atari 2500. But now I think it's not worth it as PC especially with DLSS deliver far smoother performance. AW2 on console didn't even had ray tracing and ran below 30fps. Similar issues plagues DD2 on consoled.
The cross gen era really made people think 60fps would be a new standard lol

Welp, done with Hellblade 2. Thoroughly disappointed. Such a nothing burger after the unique experience of the first game.

I have a PS5 but I am not satisfied with the experience. I am currently saving for a 4080 64 GB rig soon. Bit will wait for Pro if performance improves. This gen has been so bad I don't plan on buying consoles anymore for AAA gaming.

Both PS and Xbox have been a flop this gen as they can barely maintain 30 fps in a lot of AAA games th.

As per WCCF Tech review, Xbox Series X doesn't even maintain a consistent FPS and sometimes drops into the mid-20fps range. That's unacceptable, tbh.

Score 1 for game pass. I wouldn't pay full price for this at retail either.

Just downloaded my first legit digital PC game on GoG at a discount of $8: Two Point Hospital. The same team behind Theme Hospital Two Point Studios now part of Sega. And I am having more fun than most recent AAA games except of course BG3.

Still, I don't like either Sony or Microsoft as they are focusing more on corporate greed than delighting customers. PC gaming is best of gaming and worth every penny.

PC Gamer score of 58/100 for Hellblade 2??? Is it really worse than Gollum that was 64/100? Microsoft games can't even come close to high scores of Sony exclusives apparently.

About the Microsoft (and Sony) debate, I feel both have become too greedy and losing their minds over corporate greed. Personally, I will never buy any console next gen and switch to PC gaming where democracy reins.
