Question Regarding Laptop Battery Lifespan

I very recently purchased my first laptop, and plan on using it mostly for gaming. It's a Dell Inspiron 15R SE; not the most extraordinary laptop for gaming, but it will do. I'd like to inquire about battery lifespan. I have read some articles that support my qualm on gaming reducing battery life; and then read some articles contradicting all of that.

Some of the articles were suggesting to take out the battery and store it [in a fridge] while gaming. I'd like to know what is proper thing to do to prolong battery lifespan during gaming sessions. Should I take it out, or let it be plugged to AC power source?

Thanks.

My friend if electricity situation was perfect in our country then why bother buying a lappy, second yes you can remove the battery and keep running ur laptop on AC power. that saved the battery life alot.

There are other reasons too, my friend. You can't exactly take your desktop to your university, can you?
Back on topic: This is not a lie. Where I live, electricity never fails; except on a few rare occasions for 10-15 minutes.

Then please read what I have said :) keep battery disconnected while at home and gaming it will save battery life. I used to do that with my old Toshiba and even after 4 years its battery gives 2 hours backup.

I have the same laptop... kinda.
Mine is a normal 15R, what does SE mean?
What I do is kill it with normal use, then when it dies I put it on charge and then start gaming. :)
My laptop gives 2 hours backup.

SE stands for Special Edition. There's a vast difference between the two.
SE has 8 gigs of RAM; ATI Radeon HD 7730m; 1080p screen; Core i7.

damn. That's nice, GPU sucks though, the HD 7730M will be a little faster than my GT 525M. Considering they're both DDR3 and probably dont have much difference in clocks. Besides I don't see that much of a difference. The standard 15R has an i7 option too. Mine is i5 with 6 gigs of RAM and a standard 720p screen (which IMO is pretty good).
