PTCL DSL Router Reset with Calls Even with a Splitter HELP PLEASE!

@OP, with your current setup, when the DSL is up, pick up your phone and listen to the tone correctly. If you hear static or white noise, then it means the ADSL filter is not working. You'll have to keep trying things until PTCL officially helps you out because if the problem is outside your premises, there's nothing you can do.
I'm aware of the noise that comes without the Splitter(Filter); with this setup, I can't say its the old static noise but I can sense that there is a slight random noise caused when the DSL is connected. Plus when I turn the Modem off, the slight noise goes away with it. But I cannot blame the splitter.

What I wanna make sure is, if there can be a reason for Modem Reset due to Phone calls, other than a dieing Splitter, that reason certainly would be the cause to this issue. Because the splitter is all okay. So is it the line/pair issue the brother described?

Finally

I got a lineman and he changed the PAIR inside the box, and cut the wire from where it was stuck in the bark of a tree and I think that really had to be the cause of this whole problem.

I now have new ADSL statistics if you would like to review it please, and suggest if I should change the G.DMT Mod to any other in the list bellow for better gaming experience. I prefer Ping more than download speeds just so you know.

Keep a log on those errors. There is one difference that you have to notice and that's the LCD errors. They were 6 before and now they're 0. But there's no guarantee they won't rise. Report back if you see LCD errors when you pick up the phone and the DSL disconnects.

I'll put this in brief,

6-7 months ago I installed a splitter on my PTCL line and everything worked perfect. Router would not reset with any kind of calls and there was no noise in the phonesets either.

BUT until after like 3-4 months, I started getting disconnects all over again, and so the first thing that came into my mind was - "yes it could be the splitter expiring". SO I went to the PTCL office and they gave me a new splitter sealed in its plastic cover, guaranteeing that its NEW.

I replaced the old splitter with this new one but the problem still persisted. Which lead me to the next thought that - if the splitter is okay, then it must be the MAIN-LINE cut somewhere before i've put it in the splitter. But I checked that too!! I traced the WHOLE LINE back to the pole where it comes out of that PTCL BOX, with not a single joint! and now I'm wondering - What else is there that might be causing this?!

I cannot describe what agony this issue has caused for over 4 months now, and the PTCL staff? PTCL LINE support says its a DSL STAFF issue, and the DSL Staff says its a PTCL LINE issue. I am bound to fixing this on my own here now that I'm out of options.

As a gamer I'm sure you realize how painful it is when you get a router reset during a game, specially in clanwars and serious matches etc. Hours of entertainment turns into hours of agony and a waste of time completely.

Please suggest something, what else should I do to fix this issue. I cut all the old connections and made fresh ones to confirm that it is not the wired wearing out, and I also changed the Modulation in the DSL ROuter to G.Dmt but it doesnt help...I am totally disappointed at the moment with all what PTCL is doing, Extra BB charges and if you want to downgrade to 2mb, 1218 has COMPLETELY ignored all phone calls, and would NEVER pick up, I waited 55minutes on the line and they won't respond because they are obviously earning a huge amount of HARAM with this UNFAIR charges, and I would seriously cry to how PITIFUL this situation is, looting people just because there is no other BroadBand service feasible out there. I'll keep my sadness for another topic then but for now I would love to fix this Disconnection issue.

The issue still isn't solved...Even though I noticed a rusted joint in the wire that comes from the pole and I renewed that yet every time the phone rings, I start getting lag on Skype and soon as someone picks it up the line Disconnects.

I cannot play a game until 11 at night when I'm sure no one will call on the number.

Any other suggestions?

i faced this issue in beginning, i went to exchange and told them the problem they changed my modem model. i was getting this problem with shiro modem, right now no more this problem with ZTE (navy blue). Go to exchange ask them to change your modem model.

Are you sure? I had a paradyne router before, it was fine before and then this problem started. The ptcl guys came and they replaced my router with a new one saying this will fix it, but no, the problem persisted even after the modem change.

I tried 3 modems, it is not the modem i believe, if you are certain that all my 3 modems are faulty, please let me know.

yes i have and disconnections are less now i guess............but there can be other reason for improvement,well worth a try.

First you have internal telephone wiring or external? If its internal then you main line might be without joints but other wires that is the wires which connects to all the phone sockets in the home might be broken. Believe me I had internal wiring and no matter what I did I faced the same issue so I had my electrician check out the wires and he told me that the internal wire must be broken.

So finally bought a cordless phone and got one single wire coming directly from the pole into my room connected to a phone socket, with which I have connected the splitter and connected my cordless phone and modem to it. No issues now. You can buy a cordless phone that supports up to 4 handsets. One time investment will be worth it.

i wish i had words to describe my frustration. I have never raged this much in my life, and i have never abused the authorities of Wapda and PTCL this much, ever. I almost feel choosing IT as my career field was the biggest mistake. I cannot work online, I cannot speak to my clients, i cannot chat with friends, and i cannot play one fair game in the whole day.

If PTCL interrupts during the day, Wapda interrupts during the night. Please..how can I solve this problem once and for all? I renewed all the wiring. The exchange brought a new line underground connected to a New DP, and my wire to a New Pair, and I still get my router Disconnected when the phone is picked up.

Please..if anyone has a solution to this problem, please post it here, and give this poor soul a chance to breathe once more.

P.S, same old problem - Modem disconnects when phone is picked up, even with splitter installed. Someone told me to use more than 1 splitter and I used 3 in series, 1 - electronic splitter from an old modem. Sadly, nothing helped

Could you please explain what you mean by INTERNAL wiring? I have one wire coming into my house, and I have it plugged into a splitter, the Modem split goes into the Modem, and the Phone split goes into a hard wire which is then spread onto 3 telephone sets.

Okay I solved the issue, finally.

SOLVED

The problem was that, when I contacted the PTCL DSL services, mentioning this issue they would redirect my complaints to the PTCL LINE services; which again would not understand anything about SPLITTERS or disconnections with CALLS.

This time, before the line man could come and check my line against as always, he changed how my telephone wires were connected to some slots A & B, back at the Exchange, and with that all the problems are solved. I'm not sure if there are Positives and Negatives in all this, but it seems that the wires were inversely connected and the issue was from the exchange.

i cant explain what a relief this has been. thankyou for your support, god bless you all.
