Ptcl dsl problem: Urgent help needed

Hi guys.
I am using PTCL DSL service with 1mbps speed after upgrade. I am using Shiro modem. My problem is that whenever I turn on the modem, the dsl light does not come on, it doesnt even blink a second. It is dead since weeks and still no solution. I tried connecting it directly to the phonline (without the splitter) but to no avail. Then I connected the phone to the extension in my room and I can hear the tone flawlessly. There is no harsh noise or something. I rebooted my modem and everything but still this couldnt fix this. Right now I talk to You all through the crappy PTCL dialup. It takes ages to even open a single page. Please give me a solution to this problem.

Mate, try calling 1218. I think there is something wrong with your exchange.

It usaully happens with me..But on 2-3 attempts it connects..But as in your case you call 1218 and yes PTCL guys are picking up their phones THIS TIME..I got my problem solved yesterday within 24 hours complain..
Else do ask them to change your modem also as shiro modems arent any good..

Mate, which ISP? If it is ptcl. chk your tcp/ip setting..go to properties of your dsl->general tab->internet protocl-> chk these should be correct.preffered dns server ip should be 203.99.163.240 and alternate dns ip should be 203.99.163.243...
