Ptcl Broadband Disconnecting

hey guys wsup!!
i just got this connection yesterday
Ptcl Broadband 1mb With Shiro Modem
Speed's great. i m getting 120kbps downloading.
but this problem started a few hours later. the connection keeps getting lost
the LED on d modem starts blinking every minute or so...
Can any of u help me out!!!

seems to be working fine here .... I think its a problem only in your area ( Sindh , Karachi ... )

if the DSL light blinks . Then its your line problem

this issue is usually associated with voltage issues, your best bet is to connect your router's adapter with a voltage stabilizer.

yar i m using pTCL DSl .. nd today i got this connection when my fone line was dead..

till yesteday i feel this same problem .. only 10 min working perfectly then DSL light BlinKks .

ur saying its voltage prob.. but i think pc takes more power or voltage ratherthen router. . and my pc nt doin any fluctuate .. :s

^ pc's are tough machines, they can handle it.

these modem's are delicate little pieces of shit, believe me i had the same problem as you, the Shiro modem that the ptcl guys use as standard are very voltage sensetive.

i specifically had my modem changed to a better model which takes voltage fluctuations better. Its a Huawei model.

they won't charge you any more, just keep calling their customer support and Abuses will lead to baning to the operator about the modem like i did

and if your lucky they'll send someone over eventually ...

in my case i just told them to send someone to examine the box because i thought it was malfunctioning, but the guy himself told me about the voltage issues and recommended me to change the modem. And so i did, and my new modem is much better at handling voltages.

PTCLL suXx now . i called him 10-15 tymes tehy told me i try if any possibility to fix today otherwise monday morning

yar tell em the proceude how to conect fone line & internet both ? they told me Conect ur main fone line wid dsl filter then spread the fone connection wid other side of dsl filter.. bt me ne main fone line say conect nahi kara .. jo telefone me a rahi ha vo me ne DSL filter me lagai ha .. and when i do a call wid other fone .. the DSL light Blinkk means k jaisay he me dosray room say receiver uthata hoo DSL ke light Blink karna shrou kar deti ha ..

don't listen to them, the only way to get someone to come to your house is to continuously Abuses will lead to ban to them, i had to call them every few days for like 2 months before they sent someone.

I had the same sync loss problem ... wasn't voltages since my modem ran on a stabilizer anyway. And a pretty good one at that.

PTCL lines are SUPER crap ... ! DSL guys have always helped me out. They come in under a day. Problem is the linemen. A-s-s-h-o-l-es!

Yes there is a way, get 4 separate connections and connect them to each computer.
