n wtf is sony crazy disabling the usb port omg im never goin to update my ps3

They can never disable the USB connectivity even if they want to. Almost all of the 3rd party accessories manufacturers use USB Dongles and ports for connecting controllers etc.

Its much easier for Sony to detect and block out all the 'modded' consoles from going online, instead of taking any other extreme measures ;p

^ Exactly. And (if it gets hacked then) I would ONLY mod my PS3 if I don't get banned from PSN. I prefer online gaming over piracy.

the guys show 2,3 stored games and loads ratchet and clank from the hdd :O

I am currently on university internet so can't watch videos. However I'm eager to watch it ASAP!

Though the point remains, if these guys can somehow bypass the ban from PSN, then I'm in. Otherwise it's a big NO!

I'm sure there's alot of verbal as well as physical emotional activity going on at Sony HQ right now. We still need to wait a bit for public confirmation that this works and the video is not fake or anything. if is all true, sony won't take it lightly ;p ban hammer one way or another. but if things are good this can prove like a cat and mouse game similar to the PSP scene.

^ Exactly. I think no one here who owns PS3 will want to be banned from any Online Multiplay option. Its just amazing experience which is over piracy.

But I don't think they(Hackers) have taken any of this into consideration that they might be missing something on online play. Nor there are any specifications and instructions as well as info on the current hack chip is on air.

You can't play online from a modded psp, it gives some shitty maintenance error...

Well i'm not sure about the PSP online bans, but sony didn't have to worry about banning anyone on the ps3 so far, and i'm guessing, what sony'll be fighting for from now on, will be the right to install the latest FW on the PS3s. If the FW isn't upto date, sony can reject playing any new games and any online acces, so either its giving up new games/ online gameplay. not sure about the ban hammer.

If it does get hacked, i fear SONY will not invest much on it's exclusives, they will just be regular games then, i don't want that to happen.

Ah well, its to each his own kinda analogy. I personally am cool with it if i can play the offline exclusives on the ps3. I' might miss tekken 6 online, but other tahn that for everything else, i've PC for online play ;p

lol. This makes no sense at all. Then why Microsoft and Nintendo are still putting efforts in their exclusive games ? xD
