proof of income for opening a bank a/c ?

Need some help here,especially from bankers (yes, i know this is a gaming forum)
i went to a bank to open a savings/current a/c and they asked me to provide proof of income.i told em its my pocket money that i want to deposit in a bank account.The person there said

1-bring your original NIC.
2-A crossed check (no cash)
3-proof of income ...i said ok but i don't work and can't provide proper proof of income ...he replied " yar app koi proof bna lo"

now i need koi proof,how do i get one ? any ideas? i red somewhere that stamp paper can be used for proof but i don't know how,need more info.please reply.thanks.

Find a family / friend who has their own business with a bank account on it too and have him issue a personal check to you in your name.

I gave 5,000 to a friend and he wrote me a cheque for the same amount in my name and when I gave the cheque to SCB they accepted it.

Make an affidavit where ur fatther or ur elder bro will declare that they are giving you the amount to open an account for yourself !!!! Bank accept this!!!

Go to standard chartered bank ( the best bank so far) ask them to open an individual current account against your name. They will ask for your CNIC, fill out the form and open your account with 5,000 cash. Your done! That's how I opened my SCB current account.

As I said before, you need to show them your father's proof of income if you don't have one, either show them his job letter or pay slip.

it's the bank policy that you must follow. otherwise just find another bank that will suits your need

Yar try a different bank, the options aren't limited nowadays. These bankers are jerks and don't know shit, lakheer kay faqir hotay hain yeh gadhay. Konsa bank hai?

I opened one account in hbl last year without any proof of profession. Just say him to open an account for you on student basis. And inform that I won't be making huge transactions in this account, that outta calm him down. Its not a requirement if you are opening it on student basis.

i believe it is not a requirement at all .According to state bank of Pakistan guidelines,if a customer can't provide a proof or declare the funds as savings,the bank should open an account and is required to monitor and report the incoming/outgoing transactions for suspicious activity...
