processor problem??

guys i m having a strange problem, i bought my q9400 a few months back from a PG member, till then i am having strange problems,
1. after installing on my dp35dpm it didnt showed me the correct specs in bios so upgraded my bios and my board get dead, i claimed it for warranty and still waiting for getting it back :(
2. I purchased another dg41rq and placed my q9400 on it, it worked fine for few days, the idle temperature was 45 and on load it was around 65-70 in june-july which i guess was not a big issue. after few days working on 3ds max, when on load it got restarts, while the temp was not acceding 70. as i was using a pirated windows 7 with update enabled so i thought its a windows issue.
3. I replaced it with my old e4500 and installed xp on it and it was flawless again.
4. now again i put back the q9400 on the board, installed the window, every thing working fine, temp is 40-45 idle and 60 on load.
5. but the problem is now while starting the system when the windows xp loads (show the blue bar under xp logo) my system gets restarts. after many restarts attempts windows starts normal and every thing works perfect again.

i have tired it already, my specs are:
q9400 processor
dg41rq processor
kingston 2 gb ram
seagate 160 gb + 500 gb hdd
8600 gt gpu
cooler master 650w psu
asus dvd rw

man wait for some hardware expert to reply
or simply kick the xp off ;)
n install windows 7
n then report back if error still persist

n ya remove the gpu
n boot using built in gpu if u have on board graphics

guyz it was not the processor problem, its the the board problem and my dg41rq has died last night. after searching on net i have found same problem with several peoples. Intel low end boards doesnt properly support the quad cores. now i am planning to have a new board with SLI, I have chosen asus P5N D, can some one tell me is it a right choice and where can i buy in Islamabad.

^ The board is good, but if you plan on overclocking than leave it. What I'd suggest you to do is:

1) Sell your Q9400 and 2GB RAM for about 15k (dont know exact price you can get for it.
2) Buy a Core i3 530 + 2GB DDR3 RAM for 15k and the 8k you would spend on the P5ND; spend it on the Asus P7H55V instead.

You can move to the newer platform and get a OC friendly motherboard, and the COre i3 is as fast as the Q9400 once you overclock it a bit. Ditch SLI, and get a single powerful card instead like a GTS450 if you have a 19" LCD or a GTX460/HD6850/HD6870 if you have a 22"+ LCD.

I recently faced the same issue, my 750i SLI died so I sold my processor (Q9550) and rams and stuff and went for Core i3 instead. You can check Core i3 vs Q9550 benchies in my thread for an idea abt how the Core i3 performs.

its got something to do with ur rams..
or there is a compatibility issue with the board..
otherwise there is nothing wrong...
soo try to change ur rams..
and then do a freah install and then confirm,back!!!

@ mave3 i have tried all this, i have replaced the processor, rams, psu, hdd and even cables too, I have claimed that board in warranty.

Guys i am not a hardcore gamer, i want my pc to work best in 3d s max and reduce my rendering time. as on this review http://www.anandtech.com/show/2901/9 and http://techreport.com/articles.x/18216/13 q9400 is still better then a i3 530 and even i5 in some benchmarks. so i am sticking to it. also the future of 3d rendering is with GPU, there are alot of GPU renderer coming out including Vray RT GPU. so i want to do 2 way sli with 460s in future.

i have a little doubt about the processor, is there some one in Islamabad / Rwp who can check my processor. i ll be thankful. If my processor is fine then i have to buy another board as early as possible.

edit
some expert have told me if your processor is giving display then its fine. If there was any problem with the processor then i should not give any kind of display.

    I have a PS5 but I am not satisfied with the experience. I am currently saving for a 4080 64 GB rig soon. Bit will wait for Pro if performance improves. This gen has been so bad I don't plan on buying consoles anymore for AAA gaming.

    As per WCCF Tech review, Xbox Series X doesn't even maintain a consistent FPS and sometimes drops into the mid-20fps range. That's unacceptable, tbh.

    Score 1 for game pass. I wouldn't pay full price for this at retail either.

    Just downloaded my first legit digital PC game on GoG at a discount of $8: Two Point Hospital. The same team behind Theme Hospital Two Point Studios now part of Sega. And I am having more fun than most recent AAA games except of course BG3.
